Is that a 28g parallel? I build those in duals for my wife with a 5 wrap (comes out to about .20 -.23 usually) for her mech mod. They definitely rip, but are tough to build really clean. I found (especially building on a tube mech) that when you're setting the coils, if you heat them and wiggle them until they're even and then quench them in a cup of water, they become much jmore durable and stiff. I usually heat cycle them 2 or three times, and I also find that my post screws don't back out afterward.

I used 24 Guage on this build. I'll get a .3. What type of wire do you use to get the .20? With the kenthal the lowest I seem to get is the .3. Never used water before. Might have to try it out. As far as using a drill to straighten out the wire, with 24 I don't have to many problems. When I use 26 it all depends on what build I do.

Good post thanks for the info.

It's just plain kanthal A1. I guess to be more accurate, I wrap a 5/4, and it metered out to .22. I'm not sire if spinning it in the drill may have lowered its effective resistance, maybe? It contracts a bit, so maybe the increased density makes it more conductive? I have a pretty extensive knowledge of electrical theory, but a concept like that is beyond me.

I just picked up some 20g today. Pumped on what I might get with this. I'm running my RDA on a Panzer clone. I think I'm going to try a spaced using 5 wraps. I'll let you know.

I also saw a triple parallel using 28 gauge wire think I might want to try that one out too

I've done 28g triple and quad parallels, and they cover a buttload of surface area. On a mech, they have long ramp up times, though. Most RDAs you'll need to angle them to get them to fit, just FYI. If your batteries can handle a 28 or 30 amp drain, a 22/5 dual coil will clock in in the ballpark of .15 ohm and give you a very fast, warm to hot vape. One of my favorite builds, but rather tough on a battery. It would be awesome on a parallel 18650 box, though.
