My first time buying a mod+rda and sub ohming

Woke up and cashed my check, started a bank account at Wells Fargo.

My plan was to stop by the vape shop and buy an innokin itaste mvp 2.0 and a cheap rda to start my dripping adventure, then take the bus and buy guitar strings with my gift card.

Well I got the vape shop, it's been open less than 4 months so i was curious. Walk in and there's a few people chilling at the vape bar, real mellow scene.

I ask for the mvp 2.0 and a cheap rda, "sorry man, maybe in a month or so", so i asked about mech mods and what he would recommend.

Told the guy i know all the stuff related to building and safety, just never experience an rda on a mod. Which then led to a couple lounge patrons offering me a hit off their mech mods with .1 and .2 coil builds.

The first hit was something special and they could tell i liked it. Crazy raw power and start up time, the heat and thickness of the vapor was crazy, after being back on cigs for a few months didnt prepare me for that.

They offered me a copper nemesis clone with a "the tobh" with battery and charge and free juice. Bought it right up. Sat down and chopped it up with the folks chilling and got my apple pie juice, the gm there offered to build me a coil.

Dude used nichrome and made a parallel dual coil with japanese cotton, when i asked him to put it on an ohm reader before i juiced it up it read "1.2 ohms"

juiced it up with a fresh battery and hung out with the employee and various people who hang out there for like 3 hours.

wicked night tonight, very satisfied with what im starting with!

>side note, i understand the dangers involved with using such a low resistance, i cut off one half of the build when i got home and sitting on 2.4 ohms now:vapor::vapor::vapor:

I still like my mechs for their aesthetics but I don't use em anymore. Since the advent of high wattage box mods, my mechs and sub ohm coils are biting the dust. I'm vaping a single 1.6 ohm coil at 35 watts right now and I'm getting the same vape I had on my nemesis with a single 0.4 ohm coil. I think boxes now are much safer than mechs.

on that note... What battery are you using....

And welcome to ECF.

I think they are stepping into the realm of being archaic, the mech mods. My next major purchase will be a hannah modz dna 40 most likely, the nickel wire + temp setting sounds very nice.

it's an efest 18650, most likely not rated at .2 but it'll have to do for now. my last ecig was an ego with a kanger pro2, so the 160w im using now is crazy haha

thanks for the welcome! :D

Hey mate if you're aware of the dangers but it keeps you off smokie sticks, whatever works. :) Just make sure you have a way to meter those things even if you're just snipping in case a short gets created, etc. You'd also be surprised at how well you can drip at lower wattages if you make your coils accordingly.

Sound like you are enjoying your vape.

Spend a little time on these forums and watching videos on youtube. You will pick up the best builds at the correct ohms in no time.

I am loving the CF SUB battery for just about everything. I can use my atlantis, my nautilus and my nimbus dripper at 0.5 ohms...

Did you mean 1.2 or .12 ohms? If the latter, there's no 18650 battery that can safely handle that low a resistance on a mech mod.

i clipped half of it recently and it measures at .26 ohms right now

steamturbine they are LG brand efest 18650s, so far they havent blown up, but i think .6 to .8 is where my next dual coil setup will be at
