She is anywhere from 2-4 pack a day smoker for 45 years. She switched to lights about 10 years ago and she needs something not to heavy breath wise but she needs something long lasting battery wise. She has seen the GO-GO the I-GO. She is not at all interested in the prefilled cartos. She tried a cheap e cig from duty-free and it helpt her at first and it cut her from 4 packs per day down to 2 packs per day and she needs something more stronger. Her duty-free ecig is no longer working. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd go with a Riva or Ego and some Boge 2.0 cartos. They perform well and are easy to fill with the juice of her choice. Shouldn't be to heavy either but if it is try the 2.5 ohm or even 3 but that would be a very weak vape on a Riva/Ego.

eGo or Riva kit will do her just fine. If money isn't an issue, I would suggest a Prodigy V3.1 from puresmoker.com, a couple of batteries, and charger. With the Prodigy, you can safely use low resistance equipment. cloudsofvapor is carrying the new 3.5ml dual coil cartomizers. They hit nicely and with the capacity, will last her half if not all day. I also smoked 4 packs a day so I know what she's going through. I love the Prodigy so just throwing a thought out at you.

Best of luck to her - that's a very heavy habit.

I would suggest an eGo just for the long battery life. Since it's 510 threading she can move to all sorts of possible options - the Mega carts and atty if she doesn't mind cart filling and needs more capacity - or cartomizers. Lotto options.

Cignot has a deal on a 2 cig eGo kit now with 650 mAh batteries and the usual accessories for $45.00. Only possible problem is it's showing as available in pink only. :(

If I went the way of an ego I would go XL 1000 mah and definitely 1.5 ohm dual coil clear cartomizers but also try some LR atomizers and drip tips. Even better I would be looking for an 18650 mod, sounds like she has a very heavy addiction/habit so needs to think big. 650 mah really isn't significantly big for a heavy user.

If she's not hung up about something that looks like a cigarette, with that heavy of a habit, I'd take a serious look at a REO Grand (stock they should be available shortly, according to the reosmods.com site). A bottom-feeder with an 18650 battery would make for hours of hassle-free vaping. Visit the Reos Mods subforum for more info:

I would think that even though it may not need to be changed around as frequently, I would think there's still a lot more fuss with a mod than with some ecigs. With my ego, I just unscrew the battery from the carto and put it on the charger every night, just like I charge my cell phone every night. I do have to refill my carto, but I don't have to worry about over/under squeezing whenever I want to take a drag. I don't have to open up a box to change the battery, or disconnect the bottle from the box to refill. Just pop off the cap, drip a a few drops and I'm done. I'm still not convinced that mods are less of a hassle and good for new users.

You'd have to try one, Mike. I have 4 REO's, 2 of which I use daily and the other 2 I use occasionally. I use LR dual-coil cartos on them. My nightly routine is to top off my bottles and throw my batteries on the charger. I generally replace the cartos every couple weeks. I don't have to worry about cartos running dry, stopping to top off, carrying juice, etc. About as easy as it gets, and unlike many mods, there is a wildly enthusiastic user base who will answer any question at the drop of a hat.

I found the ego a bit too low voltage for the boge 2.0.. I like using it on my riva a lot better. The riva lite bundle is a good plug and play kit.. cheap at Liberty Flights for $30.. or if you think she'd like cartos, then the carto bundle is a good deal... instead of 2 attys, you get 5 boge 2.0 cartos for $34.some change and a carrying case.... all at Liberty-Flights

If I were her I would go with the ego and kit the bigger batteries 1100 They will last her about eight to twelve hours if she is or has been a heavy smoker. They are interchanagable with lots of things carto's atomizers and if she doesn't like dripping she could get the tank system Very easy to use. I really wouldn't recomend a mod until she has been vaping a little whiile. Then if I were her I would look into investing a nice mod My definate choice here would be the reo. As far as a vendor for the ego I would recommend Cignot. Vicki is a top notch vendor and stands behind what she sells. One other side note here is I would vape the 18mg e-juices I have been an heavy analog smoker for years before I got my ego(three packs a day) and I find that 18mg keeps me from craving an analog.

I would say this can vary. I actually started out on 36 mg and have since switched to 24 mg. I would say she would probably want to get varying strengths at first to find out what works best for her. Get some 36 (if she can find it), 24 and 18 maybe.

i thought the riva was just a standard 510 small batt. aren't they both 3.7 volt?

All Egos that I'm aware of are 3.4ish and regulated. Meaning you get a 3.4ish volt vape from the time you start until it's time to charge the battery.

Rivas when I purchased them were the same way although some argued it was slightly higher regulated, 3.5ish...lol big deal huh.

Since then Riva has come out with the Riva SE which is 3.7 just like any 3.7 mod. It's not regulated so battery dictates the voltage, not the electronics. Off the charger 3.7 batteries are near 4.2 but usually don't stay there long, they generally drop to around the nominal 3.7 rating and on down until it's time to recharge.

I've also read that other Rivas besides the SE are now 3.7 un regulated but I have no experience with those, all I can suggest there is if you're in doubt and it matters to you, ask the vendor.

Yeah there's really not much correlation between how much and what one smoked and what nic level works for them. Every one is different. When I started it was 24mg, anything below that and I was chain vaping. Some new vapors say 12mg is to strong and some complain 36mg isn't enough.

Get alot of small bottles at different mg levels and flavors also, that way she won't have big bottles of something she might not care for laying around. Once she figures out what works for her she can mix to get what she wants, sell, trade or pif them if she wants to.

A lot of people are saying the Boge 2.0 Cartos but I find all cartos have an airy feel on inhale even my Boge 2.0's. I prefer the cartridge that came with my Riva for a better vapor hit - more vapor less air. It's a trade off.. cartos are only good for holding more juice than a cartridge when your on the go and cannot refill the cartridge but then you get that airy hit. I have not tried the wick type CE2 cartos or a tank system and do not know if these solves the airy problem.

The Riva SE (or EM) has a 750 mah battery and is called a 3.7 and is unregulated. Fully charged starts off at 4.2 volts and goes no lower than 3.2 when it's dead - still plenty of vaping power. Over the course of the day you don't notice the drop off. That's why I love my SE batts and they last all day between recharges and can be recharged 300 times - ya get two in a kit so your good for over a year.

I would find out what it was she liked about the one that helped her cut down. If it looks like a cigarette, that might be important.

If you have other ones you could let her try, you could see which one felt the most comfortable to her, but the ones that hold more juice might be a better fit for later, when she knows which juice she'd want to have that much of!
