I find this hard to believe tar is a gummy thick substance that never goes away...

Many of us, vape-addict, on quitting smoking and going to vaping, get what's called "quitter's flu." I know I did. For about a month, I was hawking up some truly impressive and very brown lung-oysters.

I have to believe that most of the tar accumulated from 47 years of a three-pack per day addiction has left my lungs. Maybe there's some left in there, but it's certainly down to a reasonable level.

And, as with so many vapers, I haven't had so much as a cold since starting to vape. For me, that's been over five years.

Jack, thank you for sharing. Great news!

Just want to add that I haven't been sick since I started vaping over three years ago. Felt under the weather once or twice but that only lasted a matter of hours. Husband has had some doozies and I've avoided them all, even after accidentally drinking out of his glass. I had been getting sick several times a year with coughing going on for weeks. The payback is now I'm the one playing nursemaid.

(Husband is nonsmoker, nonvaper, btw.)

I quit smoking in 2012 and went 100% to vaping. My chest X-ray showed a region in my right lung damaged from my 30+ years from smoking.
Move to today 4 years later and my new chest X-ray shows this region has disappeared and has returned to normal. My doctor said that usually the damaged area would not change, but stopping smoking would just halt further damage. He was surprised that my lung actually healed itself and attributed it to the fact that vaping gave my lung the benefit of extra moisture that contributed to the healing. He was impressed and said this result makes him a advocate to the benefits of vaping.

Just thought I would share it here.

I am very happy for you!!!:rickroll:
