Hi Retired! Congrats on your new "habit" and may it replace your old habit permanently. :)

As for the smells...I had the sample pack too and the smell of all of them together was really bad. You may want to try separating them. That should help.

I made the mistake of constantly swapping out cartos of the different flavors. I couldn't really get a good reading on which tasted better because it messed up my taste buds. lol I'd go with one flavor a day if I had it to do all over again.

Starsong! Congrats! Big Time!!! How long did you vape before you were able to put down the analogs for the long-term. I'm trying not to have expectations on myself right away. Right now, if I can add an hour at a time to the time between analogs, I'm happy.

This morning, it was 3 hours from the time I got up until my first analog a few minutes ago.
I have one slightly sore taste bud on my tongue, so I'm increasing my fluid intake, and will try to stay away from Pepsi (my other habit) until the sore spot heals. I read in other parts of ECF that sores in the mouth are fairly common and water is important. I'm switching off between coffee (my 3rd habit) and water. It's very hard for me to stay away from coffee in the morning. Later in the day it won't be a problem (much :) )

I placed each flavor into a separate ziplock baggie. Together.. they seriously reeked!!

I just posted this on another thread, Retired, but I'll summarize it here.

Together, the cartos in the sample pack kinda reek. A solution would be that if you have an empty prescription bottle, just plunk the cartos you aren't using into it and close the cap. Should get rid of most of the smell. It worked for me.

Thanks. I started on Christmas Day 2010 (it was a gift) and I count my last smoking day as January 20th, so just under a month. A couple of those weeks was spent finding the right equipment & flavors and waiting for delivery before I could use them exclusively.

Most people don't think it will happen that fast for them, then surprise! Others keep having a couple token smokes each day as a mental pacifier - I'm sure if they really wanted to they could stop those too. But heck, a few a day isn't gonna hurt and sure is a heck of a lot better than 20-30 a day. Good luck to you!

Congrats Retirednhappy, I'm glad things are going pretty well for you.

I got a sore mouth/tongue, and throat for a little while, but as soon as I had a drink of staminade (similar to a sports drink or hydration drink), the sore mouth, tongue & throat went. Water on it's own didn't quite get rid of it fast enough, but that worked amazingly fast for me, and fast enough I didn't have to stop vaping.

I really hope that may work for you too.

I enjoyed your thread, and you are a new Volt user like me, and explained the different flavours really well.

Good luck with it all. I'm lucky to have picked a good Company too! :)

Congrats Retired! Hang in there. I was lucky in that after I took my first drag off an ecig I said "I can do this". I never looked back and am 3 months away from my 2 year mark without cigs. I quickly learned to order in advance and always have carts, juice, and a minimum of 3 batteries ready to go each day. I am saving so much money and my doctor is very happy with my improved health.

I was a 1 1/2 a day menthol smoker and after a short run with menthol, I have permanently settled in with 555. I do switch it up once in a while with grape or menthol but 555 has become my every day vape.

Good luck!
