might be just a bit of mucus. I get a build up when I vape a lot of VG and have to cough it up. When I vape a lot of PG I wheeze as it triggers my asthma. I just take it as a sign I need to up my nic for a short time and vape less
PG is more of an irritant than the VG is. Coughing up the VG is a good thing. It acts as a carrier for any crud in your lungs from smoking. Try turning your airflow down a bit so you get less vapor per pull. Also any pollen, dust, animal dander, that might be bouncing around in there. You can probably tell the difference between coughing up mucus from the vg and an asthma attack? Does the vg trigger your asthma or do you find you have less attacks while vaping on vg? It affects people differently, so I'm just curious.

Maybe try Swedish snus and avoid putting anything besides air in your lungs.

Even that won't be permitted in Basic Training. No tobacco products are permitted at all in Basic now. That applies to all branches of the military. Sure glad I went through 37 years ago. Back then we got more breaks if we smoked. :D

This happened to me once before when I vaped for months straight. My lungs wouldn't be constricted but they sounded like they were gargling fluid. After I stopped for a few months it went away. But I'm shipping out for the military in 2 weeks and the last two night at my going away party and another I vaped excessively because I [removed] and it's back! How can I get rid of it fast???

As mentioned by others it is the accumulated plegm that is getting loosened up because of vapor action. My very irresponsible advice :Vape away for few days with zero nicotine while hacking away all the accumulated phlegm due to smoking.
