The last picture:
"Firing pin"
Cut nail to precise length, and wrap mid section with non conductive tape. The point end will insert itself to the (+) of the 510 connector. The flat head end will make contact with one of the leads on the switch. Optionally, add a short spring on the head for better contact.
"wire loops"
just an ugly ring made with copper wire from a cat 5 cable. For a flexible (-) contact. fits in the head part to get squished between the (-) of the 510 connector and the tube body itself (-).

Thanks a bunch to madvapes.com.

I must have been annoying, ordering $2 to $3 orders at a time repeatedly, but all my orders came in quickly, and free shipping. I even got some free flashlights too. Great guys running good business, I think.

Used in my mod, is 510 connector (which works with my volcano, and a loner 510 from a buddy), an 808 connector, which is on a separate cap not pictured, a 808 to 510 adapter (for flexibility), protected 104400, and 6mmx 6mm switch.

Imagine me ordering each of these small parts in separate orders. They must have been scratching their heads.

This forum, however, is a different story.

They wont let me start my own thread, directly embed images, link an image from an image host, and wont even let me attach more than these five pictures. I actually had 3 more detailed diagrams all prepared.... I guess I can post 15 quick and meaningless post so I can post, but I think I just dont like the policy.

By the way, the body of the Solitare is sanded in to a smooth "brushed aluminium" look. It was black with vertical ridges.

I basically mounted the maglight on a drill and spun it while I put sandpaper to it. Started with Coarse, medium, fine, then the super fine automotive 600 grits to it. I think I actually shaved off about 1mm off the whole diameter, and about .5 more towards the vape end to give it a bit of taper.

Tell me when I hit 15 posts. I cant wait to be able to be able start my own thread.

My next project is a wrist worn watch vape.

Oh shoot. I cant even post a link until I do 15 posts, but heres what Im starting with:

echteeteepee:slashslashdoubleudoubleudoubleu.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26420

A wrist worn li-ion battery (1500mAH).
I will connect a short retractable cable from the underside of the wrist, to a passthrough.
The wires will run in the palm side, to the midsection of the "cigarette", so it will stay hidden for the most part.
The short passthrough cig will attach to the wrist battery when not in use.

It's been a while, and it's still going strong. I'm averaging about 2 days of use per battery, finding myself dripping directly on the atomizer, it seems to give the best results.
It is definately a nice design, no soldering, just some drilling, and a little bit of dremel work or sanding.
I have an 801 and I'm thinking if i can find the time, i'll try doing the same mod for that atomizer. It's a shame that for the 401 it requires destroying a bettery, it's just too hard to find an alternative. i'd love to see if anyone else tries it or any improvements they might have. I'm still looking for a protected battery in that size but i'm not having any luck. :(

401 Battery Connector, Assembled

You can also use the threads from a 510 atty.

Sure, just drill the tip to press fit a 901 instead of a 401.
You might want to just use a 510... I think there are more adaptors available for the 510 connector. Then you could use any atty.

:) thanks!!!! I only ask about 901 because its what I started with and have the most atts for. And the solitaires are cheap!!!

Has anybody come up with a Solitaire switch that does not require drilling and will not fall out?

Think SuperSteph addressed that IIRC... she found the right size screw for it. Its somewhere in the thread....

I will be attempting to build this tomorrow. Will be using an Eneloop AAA rechargeable battery.. apperently its the only one I've found that doesn't lose charge like those POS ebay rechargeables. They sell em at Ritz Camera...
