Hi Steven, my name is Stephen and Welcome Aboard. Some people are really flippin' out about all the bans we are hearing, but keep in mind that they are bans to the sale of e-cigs, not the use or possession of them. There are no e-cigs stores anywhere near me so all of my purchases are made online for parts and liquids so we generally have nothing to worry about.

That being said, you are right here along with all the 'pioneers' of e-cig development, use and the ultimate acceptance of e-cigs. We are all trying to do what we can to ensure that the right information is out there and to fight the bureaucracy that is so unfair towards e-cigs. There is going to be a long uphill road ahead but somehow I feel that if done properly, e-cigs will eventually earn a place in society as a safe alternative to smoking.

Actually, shortstuff, I found a site this morning ( Choose State USA electronic cigarette ban - ecigs ecigarette ) that lists all 50 states with links to a page for each state that gives the latest news concerning e-cig legislation. It looks to me like the negative bills are weakening. In places that were considering sales bans (like California) they're opting for "sale to minor" bans. I'm not suggesting that anybody relax their vigilance in the support of our rights to vape, I'm just saying that there may be reasons to feel encouraged. :) :)

Welcome from another ECF newbie. Glad you found this site since its definitely the best place to be for anything e-cig related and the posters are just great. Now that I've read in here quite a bit, signed, mailed all petitions, etc., I find that being more informed has helped me to not be so afraid that what has helped me completely quit smoking will be taken away. More and more people joining the fight will eventually result in success, or at least, I really believe it will.

Thanks for posting the link and the encouragement! I'm pretty sure I'll be inhaling something or other for life, and never thought I would manage to quit cigarettes until I started vaping, so the thought of bans makes me kind of panicky.

(Well, panicky too, but maybe "violent" is a better word for wanting to grab someone, pump them full of cigarette smoke until they're addicted and chronically ill, and then ask them how they feel about banning the safer alternative... yeah, "violent". Violent and vicious. And vindictive. And other words that start with "V" and mean "I hate you for the threat you've created." In my inner life I am not a nice person.)

Um... so yeah. Thank you for helping to calm me. :D

Thanks very much for posting that link! That makes it so easy to see what the current laws are in each state/location, especially useful if going on vacation/travelling around.

Welcome to all you newcomers. Congrats on your commitment to try vaping and trying to quit the analogs. Please be kind to yourselves, you don't need to do it all in one day. Most people go through less stress if they cut down over a period of time. Before long, you are going to love your vaping and scrumpdillyicous new flavors so much that you'll forget about your nasty, yucky, stinky analogs, LOL. You'll get a lot of support, advice and well wishes from the ECF family. Hugz.
