My nedw Riva busted after a day.

If you send a PM, I think Abe answers and he's in the UK so there's a time difference. They have a phone number on their website, maybe you can call Monday.
When you screw the Riva in its charger the light on the charger has to go red for it to be charging. Sometimes I have to screw my Riva 510 in a bit extra for the cable to stay red. I don't like to do that but it seems necessary.
If you bought from Liberty-flights.com they have a warranty on batteries and try to get them to exhange the charger (both parts) too since the charger could be bad.
Also - are you plugging the Riva USB charging cable into its own USB to AC? Do not charge batteries on unpowered USB hubs. I don't even like to charge them on a PC because some people have fried ecig stuff by getting a static shock on their PC. I usually use a 4-port 2amp USB to SC and hook up to 4 battery cables to that.
Re the PT - do not run it off your PC nor off a battery charging USB to AC. Most PTs need more amps than either of those provide. I recommend you use whatever USB to AC is sold for the PT or a 2amp USB to AC. And I would not charge batteries on the same USB to AC.

Thanks for all the advice. Indeed I make it a point to follow instructions and only use the charge on the wall. I am upset because I thought I found the perfect device. Long lasting, yet still relatively small and elegant.
I am not that fond of the box mod because so far I ahve not found one that looks haldway decent. I saw one with a nice looking wooden box that I was going tobuy but it is expensive and I want to wait to make sure I don;t switch back to analogs (not happening now, it has been a week and I love vaping far more).
But definitely I want to get a box mod eventually. Maybe one I can customize and that it doesn't look like a box.
How come no one has made a pipe like mod? It would seem a natural to me as long as there is a squat battery of sort.
Anyway, if someone know where I can procure a complete solution (meaning charger, atty, mod, replacement batteries, etc.) that also looks attractive and not like a high tech crack pipe, it's probably time for me to get one.

I really hope you can get this solved. If your not 100% thrilled with the 901 maybe send it back and get the ego? I don't really know that much about it. I've had my Joye ego from LF and pretty happy with it so far.

BTW are you sure it's not your atomizer? If you put no atty on the Riva and press the button, does the led in the button light?
No light on the battery under any circumstance.
I have also read that the Riva should provide up to 9 hours of battery life. Neither of my batteries came even close even after the first charge, which leads me to believe that they may not have charged to begin with.
No way for me of knowing because batteries come slightly pre-charged anyway.
I was actually thinking that I would be happy to pay a bit more for pre-charged batteries. Meaning the shiop would cycle the batteries before shipping so when I receive them I know they have been tested and I can start right away. I would gladly pay $5 or more for the service as it would assure me I am not getting a defective product and if they are well organized it could be an additional revenue source.
I also think that these kits should really be shipped with a pass-through, or at least they should make the pass-through option available on the product page.
For new folks like me it's tough to be sure I bought all the right stuff the first time around. I would have bought the pass-thorough for the Riva if I could have found it and I was sure it was the correct one, but after looking for 10 minutes or so, I wasn't sure and I gave up. If I did buy it at least I'd be able to use the kit sans batteries.
There is one thing I have learned though: I will keep my 501 and Riva 901 but I will explore some sort of box mod for home vaping that will never go down (or where I have enough redundancy where I can keep vaping).

Mine did the same thing, but backing out the set screw in the center of the battery solved the problem. Just unscrew it far enough so the charger goes to red when plugged in and you'll know you have it. I thought I was going to have to return mine too, until I read this idea on ECF and it fixed it.
