Sorry...but what is a cartomizer? And also when you talk about dripping. You say you just drip 2-3 drops directly on the atomizer and then vape. You just put an empty cart back over the atomizer and youre good to go like that?

Sorry, I really am very new to all this.

No problem. I'm pretty new also, but I've learned a lot over the past month.

A cartomizer is a cartridge with a built in atomizer. You can use and refill it maybe 4-5 times, then just throw away. They can be a hassle sometimes.

With dripping, you can try it out by taking all the cotton-like filling out of the cartridge, drip 2-3 drops of liquid on the atomizer, then put back the empty cartridge and vape away until the taste diminishes. Then do the process again and again.

However, the easiest way to drip is using a "drip tip," which replaces the cartridge. The drip tip fits like a cartridge on the atomizer, but it has a big hole in the middle, which enables you to drip liquid on the atomizer without removing the drip tip. Just drip down the middle, and vape.

Here is a link so you can see a picture of a drip tip. That website is where I got mine.

Thanks so much for all the great information guys. I sincerely appreciate all the help. I really, REALLY wish I would have found this site BEFORE i decided to start vaping.
I'm ordering my EGO as soon as I post this reply!

That's exactly how I felt. I wasted so much time and energy on the Blu and Prosmoke ordeal, and then I found this site.

Well, I am sitting in my office now drippin' and vapin' my eGo. It sounds complicated at first, but with that drip tip, it's now like second nature.

Good luck!

Well then get a Blu or ProSmoke, and they won't notice any vapor.. lol:p

Wanna hear something funny?

Before finding this site, my first e-cig was a Cirrus (white cloud):nah:. Then I thought I upgraded to the blue:mad:. Talk about lack of research!

That was about $250 total for no satisfaction.

I could have bought a couple silver bullets for that price.

Oh well, live and learn.

Wanted to jump in on the Hello 016.... It is different from the Joye ego... The cone is actually a proprietary atomizer. You can get higher capacity batteries for the ego from Totally Wicked (tornado 1000mah) for like $25

I bought the 510 it was a good starter and very similar to an analog in size however I did start to get frustrated with the battery life and always changing the batteries! I recieved the ego 2 days ago and cannot believe the difference, I definately see the increase in vapor and the battery lasted me a day and a half compared to 3-4 charges a day with the 510, I also find that it has less of a tendency to leak between the atty and cart! If I could do it again I would have just bought the ego right away!

Yeah all in all we wont disagree that the ego is a great choice in a vaporizer but the 016 is alot cheaper than the ego on most sites the ego is selling for 70 to 75 and the 016 sells for 45 to 55. when it comes down to it bigger is better.

You're shopping for the Ego in the wrong places, they sell for under $50 nowadays ;)

Thanks for the info wardge76! I'll have to check out the tornado battery. I will be looking forward to 1300mah batteries (as the Hello 016 video demos) as well!

I have a couple of questions for you all. About the cartomizers, do they only come with round tips? I find it much more difficult for me to draw with a round tip as opposed to a flat one. Also about the LR attys, don't they just conk out on you quickly? They always are sold with a disclaimer that there's no warranty unless they are DOA.
My last question -- I have always used a 510 but the attys don't seem to last more than a month. How often do you need to clean and is there anything else that can be done to extend the life of the attys?
Thanks.

The RIVa/eGo class batts last longer. The hello 016 is about a half inch longer, and it lasts longer yet. Consistency of vape has more to do with what/which cart/carto your using and how you use it, (considering normal voltage). You're sort of talking about each end of the tool working toward the middle. The batt just provides the power to the atty, the chamber/wick provides the liquid to the atty. I take a couple long slow drags, get a good mouthfull, then inhale it. Allow the tool to recharge the atty w/liquid before taking more drags. Call it the "dwell time." The most efficient wick appears to be NO WICK. Many vapers just pour juice on the atty. They call it dripping. Sounds pretty effective. I don't do it, but thousands do. And I doubt they ever find their atty starved, (dry). I don't like to fiddle with crap. Cartos for me are alot less fiddling. I learned patience along time ago. I either allow adequate dwell time for the atty to be reloaded with juice, or try to find a way to shorten the dwell time. At any rate, I refuse to be stressed over any of this crap. A good part of the reason I vape is to reduce stress in my life. Smoke and stress are known killers. Vaping. . .who knows? JMHO
Cheers,

I've had my eGo for a month. I started out like most, using cartridges, and trying several refill methods (e.g. Blue foam, highping cart method) because the cartridges seemed to always have a burnt taste before the liquid is used up.

I have since evolved to dripping with a drip tip. (Super T stainless steel T-Tip is best!) I find that dripping provides the best, most flavorful vape. With the drip tip, it's also very easy, once you get the hang of it. No plastic undertone or anything, just pure flavor from the liquid.

However, for driving or other situations where dripping is impractical, I use the new Joye eGo cartomizer, which holds up to 2.5 ml of liquid and is fairly easy to fill.
