I have been thinking about the evic. I passed up on it when I purchased my first APV. At the time they didn't have Mac software. Apparently they have version 1.2 for the mac. Still not sure what I want to do. Thanks for your thoughts.

Get an evic, you will love the thing, i love mine, just take care of it, is not a bullet proof, just like your smartphone, ipod or tablet,, if you droped there is a risk you can damage at least there is the new version with screw on the top part of the head that fixed the issue on the older version wich the head can pop out

Do you use some of the advanced features i.e. variable wattages throughout the puff or custom configurations for saved Ohm levels?

All my mods are in variable wattage mode. Its one of the best thing ever for an electrical mod. I like the screen cuz i have all info needed in same screen ,, in wattage mode is the only mode that tells you what voltage wasmauto adjusted, and ofcourse part of a good vape is a good looking mod to our eyes..

I don't think it looks that bad with an EVOD on it..

I also think the evic isn't even on the same level as the vamo.. i love mine and don't even use my zmax anymore.

The Protanks are heavy, You can get the same vape from an Evod really and its much lighter. I also own a Vamo and its a doorstop ever since i got my Evic. If you have weight/size issues then evod + 18350 ego T upgrade tube will really lighten it up. I have 3 orings on mine to give it a nice grip, havent dropped it yet! (fingers crossed)

(i know thats a protank in the pic, weight doesnt bother me, but i do use evods on it now that i fixed my stupid 510 connection!)

VC - You inspired me to go get some more size 16 o-rings from ACE. My first one works so well with my eGo lanyard. the eVic is a little heavy, but with an EVOD, not so bad. I'm getting used to the look of it. The Protank is top heavy and I don't like it anyway (the metal tip freaks out my teeth - must be sensitive.) My EVODs and I are BFFs through thick (VG) and thin (PG) ;)

I'm getting used to the eVIc - I actually like it now. The firing button is a little wimpy, but I love that I can configure this thing on my PC. I actually have 2 eVics (co-op temptation) and I'm going to keep them. I traded the VAMO. I just ordered a leopard J-wrap for one of the eVics - it will match my purse, heh heh.

Took a new photo to show current setup with evod

one thing you guys should know about the evic. I did some testing on mine last night, put it on a oscilliscope. when it is in buck mode (battery voltage is higher than set output voltage) there is a distinct modulation on the output aprox 100 khz 1 v pp. so this means it is actually varying the voltage + .5 to - .5 v. and when it is in boost mode (battery voltage is lower than set output voltage) it more there is little to no voltage osc. but at least on mine it was about .1 v lower than what it said it was putting out.
what this equates to is: the vape wattage will be higher, closer to the setpoint when the battery is fully charged and when it is run down, probably around %75 to %50 the vape wattage will be a little less than the setting, this is what led me to test it, as i definitely noticed a power drop off at some point as the battery charge declined.
don't get me wrong, i love my evic, it is probably the best Chinese mod out there, and i too love having all the setting info one button press away and on a oled screen.

of course these figures will vary according to what wattage, and the resistance of your atty you are using.

Yeah its very light with the Evod. Im not a huge fan of the firing button or usb cover! Considering getting rid of my vamos too, and an eroll. May be able to cover my backup control head =)

Maybe thats why i feel like im getting a better vape with low ohm heads?

I've had my Evic for a few hours, and im in love. I like the ability to set up profiles etc for my different device. Thats about the best thing in the world right now. I have a profile set for my evods and carto tanks. Evods start at 9w for .6 seconds then drop down to 8w for the duration of the hit. Loving it! So much so im debating getting a backup evic. I'll play with it for a week or two to determine reliability before getting another!

This SOUNDS cool, but I'm confused. I set mine to 8w (EVOD) and I got the most burnt hit, I went back to VV instead and it seemed fine. I'm sure I am doing the wrong thing here.

Arbitrarily setting a higher wattage on a Wick/coil Clearomizer is just looking for trouble. That is why I hate people just throwing Numbers out to those asking for help.
You will probably need to Clean that head good - Soak overnight in Grain Alcohol or Vodka. Blow off and let Dry. Then you should be good to go again.
I recommend on a New Clearo, always start lower. More around basic battery power. i.e. 3,7v
Watts really will work nicely for you and is more stable, but you have to get a feel for things first.

Please notice, in Watts mode - with Display set to show wattage - you will also see the corresponding Volts.
Adjust Watts until Volts are about 1.8v over your Coil Resistance.
1.8ohm coil - 3.6v
2.5ohm coil - 4.3v
These are normally good starting points.
Now you can adjust the wattage a bit at a time until you find that Nice Vape spot. If it starts to seem burnt, back down and take note of the best wattage and Volts.
This will likely always be where That Clearomizer works best.

Experiment - have fun:D
