I wanted a holster for my new mod (smok G150), but I didn't see any great deals online.

So I started thinking and realized that an "HHR" (hand held radio) holster is *exactly* the right size. And they are cheap at Amazon.

Now it's a lot easier for me to just unholster (or holster) my mod and vape on the go!

Great idea KT!

Thank you! Yes, the idea occurred when I realized that those small HHRs are exactly the same shape as a mod. The obvious difference of course is that their "antenna" is our "tank."

Well, that and it would be impossible to vape out of a radio (or use a vape for shortwave).

Condor makes great products.[emoji106]

Yes, it's super solid and has double stitches everywhere. I had heard good stuff about Condor.

For example, the metal snap for the MOLLE loop on the back is SOLID. It's like the sort of snap one would find on an expensive jacket.

The part that gets me is the $9 (Prime) price, delivered. I had looked at quite a few vape holsters online and they were either super cheap looking, or in the $20 plus price range.

Since Condor makes stuff for First Responders, I figured it would be well designed and well made.

As you know, it is!

Hello and welcome. What a great idea. As I have heard, "Necessity is the Mother of Invention". It wouldn't work for me though. My mod very seldom leaves my hand.:vapor:

I got mine even cheaper. 98 cents at the local big box sporting goods (Academy) and a magazine pouch for $3.99 for my Charons. I also use a small point and shoot camera bag for when I need to carry 2 mods or extra batteries and it can go on belt or use the included neck/shoulder strap. I was able to carry a Battlestar with Combo RDTA and a Chubby gorilla bottle of juice in the main pocket and the small front pocket has enough room for my either my Capo with OBS Nano or a dual battery box and charge cable

Sweet!

Yes, I totally can't see paying more than a few bucks for a holster. You scored!

Nice idea! And here I am trying to build a form for Kydex...
Kydex would totally rock. And as you know once you make the form, you can produce as many copies as you want.

A custom Kydex holster is actually something I would pay more than a few bucks for.

I had a couple of old point and shoot bags around and I bought 1 for my brother on Amazon for $7 I had originally bought the molle radio holster for securing a marine radio to my kayak, so now it gets double duty as do the mag pouches.;)

I like the idea too. I get small pieces of Kydex as drops from work. Seems like a good idea. ABS plastics are wonderful.

Looking into it, it does not appear hard to do. The vacuum former is nothing more than a plywood box, sealed on the bottom with a pegboard top and a hole in the side for a shop vac, plus an aluminum screen frame to hold the plastic. One would also need an oven to heat the plastic sheet. I shall get on with it. Moving house next month, should be able to set up a better shop in the new space.
