So I received my passthru kit from cignots somewhere around the 20th April and my passthru died last night...I have NO IDEA what the heck ...it just quit
working of a sudden-and wont charge/hold a charge..its just dead..

I just started vaping April 10th...so I am kinda new to all this...Um...Can anyone tell me whats wrong? Is the battery needing replaced if so...they dont last very long do they?

I am so bummed :(

I have been using 510 passthroughs for over a year, and usually there are a couple of issues that can cause the PT to not work properly.

Some of these I only recently discovered, so I am asking a couple of questions to find out how you use your PT.

Do you strictly plug into a computer usb or do you use a usb power supply or battery pack at times?

I was having a problem with the "batteries" going bad, or so I thought, but found that the batts were not going bad, the charge was going down when the usb battery pack I was using ran down. The 10440 batteries were not being recharged when I changed to a charged usb battery pack.

I found that out, then got a battery charger to charge those batteries and now I have good batteries and good PT's all resurrected from the "junk pile"

So, just a consideration.

Also, I did have one that the wire came loose, so after repairing that, it's vaping up a storm now.

PS: Madvapes has that battery charger, a multi charger that charges several sizes, so it's a really good deal if you have different batteries needing charging.

well there are a few things to check... are the wires loose.. check near all the solid plastic areas for frays ..

did the battery get shifted .. open it up take it out and put it back in..

is the charge on the battery not producing enough power.. if you have a think they are dse atty the ones with the washer looking piece inside these ones will work on a passthrough with a weak charge..

Ok...I only use it plugged into the computer...I didnt know you could use it any other way...LOL

Nothing is frayed...checked the battery positioning right when it died...
The atty's and everything I have is Joye...I ordered the passthru kit from cignots..thats all I have for equipment...I am placing another order for the 35 dollar kit today...

OK, then it should not be a run down battery.

And, yes, there are other ways to use, some quite handy.

There are usb cig lighter adapters available several places, got mine at walmart, which allow the PT to be powered in the vehicle.

Also, USB battery power packs, like the Kensington and others, which give you power when on the go away from computer.

I use the power packs a lot since I wear slacks with pockets and can keep the power pack in pocket and run the wire up under shirt, out the neck and let it hang in front handy for my use, but that's just me.

I hope you are able to resolve the issue and sorry I could not be of more help. I love my PT's and I am glad I found out what MY issue was and have been able to resurrect all my "dead" ones that were not really dead at all.

do you only have 1 atty? if so check the atty to see if the connector is pushed in.. look and see if the center piece in the threads sticks out a bit more than the threads do..

i have had this battery inline pt for 4 months .. it needs a new battery its not getting enough charge to power a joye atty.. it only works with the ones with the washer thing in them

Hi
I have 2 atty's they both work on the batteries I have....

Ok...so I guess I now need to ask..Where the heck do I buy these PT batteries from?
Now I'm starting to think I am going to buy a PT that doesnt have a battery....I get frustrated EASY and tinkering with constantly dieing batteries may drive me crazy....Atomizers to....I am going to order like 10 just to be safe LOL....When the PT died last night...BOTH my batteries regular batteries were dead so I had to smoke analogs...icky

MadVapes has an alternative dual use type of passthru (510 Sit and Go USB Passthrough). It can be charged thru the USB or with a 510 charger from the atomizer end. I have one and it works well. A good price as well. They also sell batteries of all kinds.

Ok..I just ordered another kit from Cignots....and a new battery for my PT..hopefully that wiill fix it???,...NOW..about this Sit an Go ....

I DID see that while I was shopping around...I am confused... Does it have a battery like the one I have now? OH...and the picture of one of the ends doesnt look like it will plug into my usb...its the pic with round thingy around the plug...is that the usb plug part?...sorry being dense today

I know madvapes has a 5v PT with no battery....but this sit n go sounds good to

i'm sorry about your PT dying on you jessie! i know i'd be going nuts without any kind of PV around. maybe you can e-mail Vicky or Terri if they have some kind of trick or hint.

Sanfordf - i think you offered a great suggestion, but i also think it was kind of un-cool to name and link another vendor on Cignot's forum.

The Sit and Go does have a battery like a regular 510 manual that you can charge and use (unplugged) like a regular 510 or use it while the gold end is plugged into a USB port with the dual ended cord (mini USB plugs into the cig and the 'normal' USB plugs into the computer) like a passthru, at your computer. The cord isn't too long though, so that's why I say 'at your computer' when you are using it in passthru mode.

It was inappropriate for me to mention and link to another vendor in the Cignots forum and I apologize. I was just trying to help a damsel in distress. I was only scanning the new posts and not the forum it was in. I should know better, I'm sorry.

I did emai them..Boy- they respond FAST..LOL...They think it's probably the battery..SO when I placed another order with Cignots this morning I ordered a PT Battery replacement.Hopefully that will solve the problem....BUT just in case I did order another PT that I had been looking at (yes it's the sit and go) It has a battery though so...Just in case-I will also be ordering a 5v 510 PT which has No Inline battery ...I wish cignot's carried these for the 510 I would have added it all on to my order with them ...LOL

My PT died last night.. Hardly even ever use it since I got the eGo.. Total actual vaping time on it was MAYBE 2 hours.. if that. I've heard a lot of issues with the 510 PT dying. No idea if it's the battery or what, but like I said, with how very little it's been used, I'm very surprised it's dead. Guess that's the one thing I'm going to have to NOT recommend to folks.

Its almost always the battery - I have learned this from experience as I think I mentioned to jessie in another thread lol. Thats the drawback with the inline battery ones - the device is usually decent but the batteries don't always last long and I don't know why. My first one lasted months, the 2nd one the battery buggered up fast but I dont blame the PT I blame the battery makers lol. I wish they made a 3.7v PT with NO battery like they do a 5v PT but alas, no-one does that yet. Get soldering you mod makers I say! :D Of course its probably easier to just get an Ego (and its wire free!) - but they didn't sell those when I got my first 510 kit lol.

The one I got from them quit and I had to bend the wire all the way over ant touch the side before it would work. I finally pulled it apart and made a 5 volt one without the battery. Try moving the wire around with the button on and if you see the light flash on and off you have a loose wire inside. Get a 5volt from madvapes, no battery, work better, same price.
