I started out with a Smoking Everywhere ecig that my mother bought me and it was ok. But now I have been having trouble with the battery life ( I only got one battery) and the vapor production. I was looking at buying a better one and I was wondering what kind I should get. I was pretty much looking at the Joye 510 or the Volcano Magma kit. I really don't smoke much (about 4-6 real cigarettes a day) and I do most of my smoking at night, not throughout the day so I think that as long as I have two batteries I'd be fine. Also I like a strong throat hit and alot of vapor production. I would prefer a mini (that looks like a real cigarette) but I am not totally against a good pen style.

What do you reccomended for a casual smoker like me?
Thanks

It is the super-mini that "looks like a real cigarette." The minis (e.g., Joye 510 or Magma) are 108 - 118 mm in length: not huge, but certainly longer than an analog.

I am a Joye loyalist: not because I own stock in the company or receive kickbacks for referrals;), but because of the Joye 510's performance. It is a vapor machine and my second favorite model (and most people's favorite). I don't know much about the Magma, other than it appears to use an automatic battery (rather than the 510's great manual) and I've not heard great things about Volcano (including Magma) cartridges.

My favorite is the penstyle (I get more TH from it and prefer its flavor), but it is significantly longer (155 mm) and doesn't look anything like a "real cigarette." My two favorite penstyle atomizers are the Joye 302 and the LV (i.e., low-resistance) DSE801. The latter can only be used on a battery of at least 450 mAh.

I love my 510, mainly because of the atty, which is probably about the best out there. It is a bit on the high-maintenance side, takes some time to work right, but once you do it is really great. The batts are rather short-lived though. If you got a 510 kit with a PCC charging case, for your needs you should be great for an evening.

I would also, however, consider a KR808d-1. The batt life is longer than the 510s, and it uses cartomizers. It is a 2-piece system, rather than a 3-piece (batt+atty+cart). It uses a batt+carto. The cartos can be filled and last a long time, longer than a 510 cart, and the batts last a lot longer. People say (I don't have one, but I will) that the flavor is good.

The 510 will deliver a stronger TH and overall vapor, since it runs hotter than the KR8. But the KR8 is more convenient...just carry an extra batt and some cartos, and you are great for a while.

KR808D-1 Mini e-Cigarette Starter Kit [KR808D-1] - $39.50 : Zen Cart!, The Art of E-commerce

Other vendors sell it too, of course. Both models have huge followings here, lots of support, and they are both probably the two most popular models of PV, and for good reason. They are both great, but for different reasons.

The Volcano Magma is a 510, but with a couple differences. The auto batts are reported by members here to have a longer cutoff time than the regular 510 batts. they do sell manual batts, too. I like manuals because the atos I had tended to activate too easily. the big difference I see with the regular 510 is the atty. It is somewhat lower resistance (2.3 ohms) than a regular 510 atty (2.5 ohms, sometimes a bit more). So the power through the coil will be more than a regular 510...more vapor, more TH. The price on the attys themselves are low, telling me to try some. All magma hardware is interchangeable with regular 510 hardware. The magma attys, since the deliver more power, may not last as long as regular 510 attys.

the magma kits are pricey compared to a 510 kit ($40 give or take), which is puzzling to me since you get less than most 510 kits, 1 atty compared to 2, 1 batt compared to 2. But you do get 25 carts of flavors and strengths of your choice. So it might be worth it for you.

All are good choices, for different reasons. If you want total convenience and long lasting, choose the kr808d-1. If you want TH and vapor, and don't mind topping off carts, do the 510 or the magma. Whatever you decide, its good to get some extras, like attys and batts. Both tend to die when you least want them to, especially attys.
