How old are you?

I don't understand how full time education would keep you from working. I worked and went to college full time. Both of my older kids are in college, one living in a dorm, the other drives back and forth, and they both work to help pay their expenses. Not trying to be mean, but if you want to be doing your own thing you must be able to pay your own way.

Your 14 year old brother shouldn't be smoking. It's a bad habit. He's living at home so he won't starve. If you live at home too then I guess you need to educate your parents about vaping. If you are under 18 then I don't know what to tell you. Your parent's house/their rules.

Good luck...

Yeah, I worked myself thru college.

Hello Edward. You can find enough data here to convince them that vaping is better than smoking. If they're rational.

Maybe they don't want to pay for his vaping. (or his kid brother's smoking).

to the OP: This forum requires that you be 18 years of age to participate.

If your parents are supporting you, at age 18, then I kinda can't blame them for not wanting to pay for your vaping gear and consumables as well as supporting you in every other respect.

Funny, listening to NPR right now, they were talking about how expensive college is now, and how the large majority of students HAVE to work these days while attending.

And you are how old?

You live in their home. They are your parents. Their home, their rules. If you don't like their rules in their home, then go live in your own home with your own rules.

(irony) HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!

The truth. As he said Edward, though mabye you just gotta be better at hiding them ;)

I went to school full time and had a full time job. I took 2 classes online and 3 in school, scheduled them for 1 or 2 days a week, and worked around my school schedule. It's more than possible. It's all about planning your major and classes, and working around them.

Your profile says you're 18. At 18 I was working a retail job at an electronics store, and then met some people and got into a tech company, and then managed a retail store, and then I started working for myself doing computer graphics. There are many avenues to take. Vaping isn't really a life changing experience, but being independent is. The sooner you are, the sooner you can make this choice, and many other choices for yourself. If you don't want that freedom bad enough you won't have it. But it takes a lot of patience and drive, and sacrifice too, and I know people in their 30s who still don't have that. It's really up to you, not them. They are just looking out for you, and if you rely on them, then they're going to use what they give you as negative reinforcement to control you.

If Life is a Game, These are the Rules by Cherie Carter-Scott (not verbatim)

Rule #1 -- You will receive a body. You may love it or hate it, but it will be yours for the duration of your time on Earth.

Rule #2 -- You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called “life.” Each day in this school you will have the opportunity to learn lessons. You may like the lessons or hate them, but you have designed them as part of your curriculum.

Rule #3 -- There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial and error: experimentation. The “failed” experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiment that ultimately “works”.

Rule #4 -- A lesson is repeated until learned. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learned it. When you have learned it, you can then go on to the next lesson.

Rule #5 -- Learning does not end. There is no part of life that does not contain its lessons. If you are alive, there are lessons to be learned.

Rule #6 -- “THERE” is no better than “HERE.”When your “there” has become a “here,” you will simply obtain another “there” that will again look better than “here.”

Rule #7 -- Others are only mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects something you love or hate about yourself. Each reflection is an opportunity for growth.

Rule #8 -- What you make of your life is up to you.You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.

Rule #9 -- Your answers lie inside of you.The answers to Life’s questions lie inside you. All you need to do is look, listen and trust.

Rule #10 -- You will forget all of this at birth! You can remember it whenever you want.

Now THAT's a scary thought.
Where I live housing is so expensive and people are living with their parents into their 30s, or moving out of state. It's crazy here. Rent for a 1br is over 1k, property taxes are 10k+, house prices are in the mid 400s. It's not easy.

just tell them 1. it contians pg and vg ( totally safe give them examples of what they are used for besides vaping ) and 2. say it contains no nicotine ( some obviously do yours might idk but hey a little white lie won't hurt ). imo just get a job im 22 i live with my parents and i love to smoke but they dislike it when they found out i smoke so i don't smoke infront of them or at home. i do work so at that point they can't tell me not to plus i am of age to drink/smoke which they also do/used to do.

other then that there is no way i mean coils are not very expensive by the coil its like what $3-5 at max? juices are probably the most expensive. i also go to school full time and work so it is doable

I got my first job at 13 and saved all the money I made in junior high and high school to help pay for college. I worked through college. After college I worked 2-4 jobs for the next 19 years until chronic pancreatitis changed that.

Your parents owe you nothing once you're 18. If they choose to help you with college, that's great, but they aren't obligated.

Did you used to smoke? If so, maybe they will be more understanding if vaping is how you quit smoking.

If you smoked, did they buy your cigarettes? If you didn't smoke before you started vaping, then you've just started a new hobby that they can't be expected to pay for. Any way you cut it....I think you're getting the message. Get a job. I worked all my life....all through college and beyond. Most of us have.
