My Perfect PV, who wants to make it for me?;)

Kind of scary, but I actually had a dream last night that I had a new PV. The PV is nothing like what is out there and is a hydrid model.

Basically, it is a variable wattage box mod, made from metal, with a nice OLED, that has a retractable cartomizer. When the cartomizer is in the unit, retracted, you can be in stealth mode and the mod will easily fit into your pocket without worrying about bending the carto. When you want to make it a bottom feeder, simply pull up on the carto and replace it with your favorite atomizer and place a bottle underneath. Not sure what power source it had, but I would want to have at least 2800mah. It would have 3 buttons. 1 to fire and go through the menu with 4 clicks, and 2 for the wattage adjustments. Capability to see your resistance and battery life as well. The size was exactly what a pack of smokes is, maybe a tad taller, but had rounded corners and finger indentations on the other side. The bottom and top were completely flat.

So, now we have a mod that has the convenience of the size of a box mod, the capabilities of the kick, the ability of bottom feeding and great battery life. Who's with me on this one? :p

I saw that one, but it's plastic and would require a ton of modding to accomplish the entire package I described. I also like the new ovale v8 that is coming out. It fits the size and is a true VV, but still is made from plastic and does not have the retractable carto...

This thing would the last APV I would ever buy, it would literally do everything I would ever want it to do...

Question about the Darwin. THe one part the kind of steers me away from spending $245 on this MOD is the internal battery. I understand that this allows them to keep the size to where it is, but what happens when the battery goes? The battery has a 1year warranty, am I stuck with an expensive paper weight when the battery goes?

A lot of your wish list is on a Darwin. Sorry, no bottom feed option, and LED rather than OLED. You just have to find one. I think they are on a 2 month backorder.

The Darwin

Nope they will replace batts for $25. I have three Darwins and one is over 1 year old still going strong

Hi liv2Ski,
The last time I checked at nhaler the Darwin was out of stock. Do you know who else sells the Darwin or when it will be in stock at nhaler?

This has been the longest drought for Darwins. Evolv released the Kick, then the DNA so we should be close on a release of some Darwins. nHaler is the only US based re seller and the best advice is to leave them a note through their "contact us" form on the site asking to be notified of a Darwin sale. There is some pretty serious pent up demand for these though.

That's even farther away from what he was asking for than the XL or the Ovale 8!!!!!!! Sometimes I really wonder if some people actually read posts before making comments?

I remember reading that they are working on a new version with the DNA chip built into it. I think that is the hold up on it. I think it was in the Nhaler forum....

Not sure exactly what you mean by "XL", but the Ovale 8 is a variable VOLTAGE device, and the OP is wanting a variable WATTAGE device.

Also, refresh my memory, does the Ovale 8 have a atty/carto connection that is retractable or folding? Darwin does. Also, is the Ovale 8 made of metal? Darwin is.

Sometimes it seems like nobody reads posts. :p

The point of this post was to share my dream of a MOD that does not exist. I know the options that are available to me, trust me, I have Googled every mod possible and I know that nothing like this exists. The darwin comes close, but is still nowhere near what I was dreaming about. It will not allow me to have a bottom feeder. Also, it is not a box mod and is tall and not wide. It does allow the carto to be folded, but not retracted, so that you can stealth vape. I would want it to be more of a shape of a cigarette pack, for easy storage in my front pocket. This would be a combination of the Darwin, a VMOD XL and the Vision Ultimo...I think...

bigman with the DNA recently hitting the streets I am betting that while you may not get your entire wish list there will most likely be something close to it. There are many talented Modders out there who are just getting the chance to play with this and they will certainly bring some cool stuff to the table. The interesting thing to see will be if the chip gets acceptance to those that are selling production quantity MODs and what they will bring to market. Already there is the Opus which is a cool wood and brass mod that looks nice and provides VW but, it is not a bottom feeder nor does it have a display. I guess time will tell.

Thanks liv, I know I might not get my entire wish list, unless I actually get enough free time from my 9-5, side company that i am trying to build to a full time company and my family, to build my own. Not sure if I have the knowledge yet to make the vw portion work, but my IT and software background should allow me to make it happen. It's just the time, I rather pay someone for something pre-built.

Like you said, time will tell:)

I with you there bigman. Same time issues plus with this vaping hobby if I was to jump into the modding end of it the weekly package count would rise drastically. Since the wife already .....es about package count that headache would only rise exponentially :). Happy vapes and hopefully that dream mod (or variant) will be available for purchase soon!!!!

XL was in post #2..... guess you missed that post.....

Never knew or even found it listed anywhere that says the Darwin is metal..... I did know it was VW though, buts that's it.....

It has a "folding", not retractable connection..... guess you missed that part also..... If you want to find out if the Ovale 8 has a retractable atty/carto on it, why don't you google it to find out?

The main point of my post was that the Darwin was even farther off base than the Ovale 8 or the XL.... That was it.... Just thought the suggestion of the Darwin was a little fan boyish..... That was it.....

Just to make an observation here, I wasn't the person that suggested any APV out there for the OP..... I just don't get why some people try to push a device on people that isn't even in the same ballpark as what they are requesting info about.....

I didn't miss it at all. Where I come from, a fold down connector is "similar" to a retractable connector from the standpoint of reducing the overall height of a device and putting it in your pocket. You see that's why I said a Darwin had "most of" the features he was looking for. "Most" means not all. It also doesn't have an OLED display, but it does have LCD display. How about the devices you mentioned? Do they have OLED displays? Are they variable wattage devices? Do they have metal bodies? How then are they similar to what the OP was looking for? I guess "you missed those parts".

If you want to find out if the Ovale 8 has a retractable atty/carto on it, why don't you google it to find out?

I did, and it doesn't that I can find. The pics I have seen of it show a shiny metal standard 510 connection sitting on top of it, and the listing for it on discountvapers website doesn't say anything about it having a retractable carto connection.

I didn't "push" anything. I am NOT a Darwin "fanboy". I don't own one, and am not in the slightest interested in buying one. I simply suggested to the OP that it had most of the features of the mod he dreamed about, which is why he said it "came close" to what he wanted.

I just think it's hilarious that you come in here swinging at me claiming I don't "read posts", but you apparently either don't understand what a "variable wattage" device is (as opposed to a "variable voltage" device), or you don't "read posts", that you apparently missed the part of the thread where the OP mentioned that a plastic box was a dealbreaker for him, or again you don't "read posts".
