My PG won't mix !!!!

Hi all, i stopped in at our local vets the other day on a whim just to see if they had or could order some PG. It is onyl a small animals clinic so i wasn't holding too much hope but hey you never know.

They had some ... woo hoo. They had a gallon bottle which they had rarely used so the filled up a 4oz and they GAVE it to me. Sometimes it helps to live in smalltown Iowa.

Anyways, i tried a small mix with a previously mixed batch just to see how it was. Hmmm looked a bit murky, i let it sit and it seperated out. The previous bacth had some vg and lorann in it too. You could see the three layers - previous mix on the bottom, then the pg then the water on top.
Next day i tried a mix with equal amounts of juice and pg and nothing else. I got the same result .

The VG i have mixes in awesome and i would like to try doing a 50/50 VG/PG mix to mellow the taste of the vg a little. Then i'd use that for blending down juice.

Anyone have any ideas what's going on ??

The PG you have sounds suspect. I have mixed many batches of VG/PG/Lorann and have gotten a clouded mix, but not a mix that seperates like that. Try thinning the VG first with vodka or distilled water and mixing it real well before you add the PG and flavor. If that does not work I would suspect the PG you have may be expired as you say it has been laying around and not used that much were you got it from--Let us know how you make out--Sun

This is what i'm guessing has happened. It was free so i'm not worried by it but did think it was a bit odd.
Also i didn't want to go to a vet supplies store and buy a gallon then have the same thing happen.

For now the VG is working just fine on it's own .
