I have been using for almost a week and not one complaint then today out at the store i pull it out and it's burning up! Come to find out no matter if the button is pushed or not I can vape off it as long as a atty is in it. What can I do or do I have to send it back? I'm so disappointed cause I don't want to lose it, I'm addicted to the Protege. Is there an easy fix or am I screwed? Please help!

hey guys --

sticky switch/switch stuck on -- its the same switch we use on the prodigy and ps usbpass, so we know the switch can withstand the test of time. we likely just got a few switches that decided to prematurely fail fortunately ... its a simple fix and nothing we can forsee. over the weekend, i will put switches up themselves for people that know how to solder and want to keep an extra or two on hand. otherwise, we are open and happy to take care of the warranty fix for ya!

Thanks Steve, that would be great. I just placed a good sized order tonight. How can I go about adding a switch to it?

Uh oh, we won't be able to replace a switch if we don't know how to solder? eeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkk. lol Steve, is the switch supposed to "click" on release? I didn't notice mine doing it at first, but it does now. I just want to know if that is common or not? Thanks!

Soldering is not hard. Ask around, I'm sure you know someone who can handle it. Not like it's a circuit board or anything.

I tried those green bateries someone said you used in your prodigy. Realy great. Actually more vapor than with the Tenergy batteries and last 8 hours.

Brian

????????????????????????!

The batteries that are used with the Prodigy are Tenergy batteries. No battery that work with the Prodigy will work with the Protege. Just will not fit.

So I guess you were just talking about brand and not model number?

They are generic 3v CR123's, 1000mAh. Here's a link at Lighthound... DX has them also, and cheaper, if you're willing to wait a month to get them. Lighthound ships Priority USPS from the Houston area:

3 Volt RCR123a Unprotected Battery

Oh... probably can't use the Tenergy charger with them.

[edit] I'm sure he was talking about using them in a Prodigy, not the Protege.

Mine is doing the same thing. I can vape from it without even pressing the button. I noticed a burning smell a few minutes after putting it down. It worked ok for about a day but now I wonder if the switch could go bad at any time and you have to be constantly aware if it is burning. I also wonder what would have happened had I put it down and left the room never knowing it was burning.
