I'll try not to get too wordy but here goes.....Back in January 2012 I bought a VCig because a girl at work had bought one and was semi working on quitting analogs. I got the package and literally cursed at it for a couple of weeks w/o really trying it....you know, open box, curse at it and close the box. I loved smoking, I was a 2ppd smoker of 40 years!! Then February 22nd I was admitted to the hospital with severe COPD and atypical pneumonia....that was my first encounter with a literal lack of oxygen entering my body and the fear that comes with it. I started vaping on 2/23 and have never looked back and never cursed the idea of vaping again. I love it so much that I started DIYing my own juice flavors, I'm partial to anything that goes well with coffee ;) All the rich flavors of chocolate, caramel, vanilla....yummy.
My journey led my son and his wife to quit smoking and they are vehement vapers as well. I want every mod, drip tip, new invention I see but alas funds keep me in check. I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning about each experience in the world of vaping.

Nezrend I would encourage someone with COPD to make the switch especially if they are still smoking. My COPD is mild but when I had my first encounter gulping for air I can say I was scared and I was a die hard smoker, swore I would die with a cigarette in my hand....that was before I found out what it was like to suffocate. I'm also a nurse and we are famous for not taking care of ourselves. I discussed vaping with my pulmonologist and he was all for vaping if it would make me lay down the cigs. I will say that at first I choked and coughed and my eyes teared up every time I vaped but figured out that if I take a mouthful of vape before inhaling that it helped until I got used to the feeling of the vapor on my lungs....don't know if that makes sense. I guess it took me about 2-3 weeks before I felt the benefits of vaping as far as not waking with the tight feeling on my chest or feeling like I was coughing up a lung. I still have periods of breathlessness but nothing like when I was smoking. I can't imagine how vaping can affect COPD negatively, it's changed my life for the better for sure and it's my understanding that PG has antiseptic qualities....I guess only time will tell but for now I'm smoke free and quite happy with the results.
