Roonies: out if curiosity, did you doc tell you it had to be a no tobacco or no nicotine situation?...my doctor and my spouse have been going rounds about this distinction, and in the meantime I've been weaning my nic level down a bit faster than is comfortable (the doctor says I have to have quit for months for him to perform the surgery)-

I just knew that it was preferred that I quit at least one month before surgery, which I did not succeed in doing. I had one cigarette a day after surgery for 3 days, then quit. As far as nicotine still being an issue, I believe it constricts blood vessels and therefore restricts blood flow to the area being operated on. The amount of nicotine I get from vaping is so much less than what I got from cigs that I'm not stressing over it. I'm at 12 mg. nic and it absorbs more slowly when it has to be absorbed through the mouth and nose. I mostly don't inhale the vapor so I figure I'm getting a fraction of the amount I got before. I'd be interested in hearing what your doctor says, though. Good luck!!
