A no brainer to see your Doc. IMO. You can also reveal to him that you've stopped smoking. Most of our Dr's have been very supportive of vaping. Could also be, as others have reported, you have a sensitivity to PG. Myself I am sensitive to Ethyl Maltol aka Cotton Candy. Also one other point that no one has touched upon. vaping is dehydrating and if you're drinking coffee (more than 4 cups= dehydration) or caffeine laced soft drinks the dehydration becomes severe. I cut my java down to 3 1/2 cups per day from 10+ and no longer drink Coca Cola. I drink 1 1/2 litres water per day.

Good Luck.

That's a GREAT point. I concur.

Great. My throat is going to fall out. I smoked analogs for 20 something years and now im a goner lol.

No you're not a goner. You're actually a very good sport with a sense of humor.
I hope your doc figures out what's going on .. you're going tomorrow, right? You'd better!
And please post a follow up.

I will also suggest that visiting your PCP would be a very good idea. The idea of your throat bleeding is frightening.
And since your throat is rather sore, it makes me think you might be sensitive to either the PG in your niquids, or, possibly, sensitive to the flavoring in a particular niquid. Annnnd... drinking more fluids will also help keep your throat tissues better hydrated JIC poor hydration is the root cause of the problem.

If your doctor says that your throat is not bleeding, then a couple of other possible reasons for blood in your throat come to mind:

1) The blood is coming from your mouth somewhere - start swishing TID with warm salt water and drink more fluids to keep your oral tissues well hydrated. A visit to the dentist could also be in order to make certain that you are not suffering from some sort of incipient gum disease.

2) the blood is in post nasal drip coming from your dried out sinuses. Again, get more fluids into you and STOP expelling the vapor out of your nose ans it is very possible for your sinuses to get all dried out from the PG in your niquids and, possibly, cause bleeding in your nasal passage.

When I first started to vape I had a very bad sore throat. One time and only one time I coughed up a little blood. I paniced because I thought after 43 yrs. of smoking it was to late. But I noticed that it was pink and not red. So my throat was irrated. you have to drink lots of water in the begining. Also more vg helped. I really like pg but at first it is harsh. Is it really dark blood or lite in color? I think you just need more water.

Ok, so I just HAD to post here after reading through this thread because you guys have me laughing my head off! Pretty soon MY throat is going to be sore, but not from vaping, from laughing too hard.

I think the OP gets the point right? Go see a doctor- then buy a Provari. (Don't own one myself :))

In regards to abnormal/normal reactions to vaping, anybody get a relative increase in canker sores? I understand that this may be a possibility after being off of analogs for a bit. Changes pH of oral cavity from what I have read.

I've heard that as well, related to tobacco withdrawal. I had a brief spout of it, but it left.

@OP: Go to the doctor.

That could be why My Stop Smoking coach for the program I am working on suggested I have 2 Nicotine replacement therapies in case one causes me irritation or problem , so not to end up smoking analogs again. So I have a Nicotine inhaler plus vaping. I may also ask the doctor to prescribe the Nicotine Nasal Spray. I cannot use the gum due to irritation of the gums, now that is when I would get swollen or bleeding gums from the harsh nicotine sitting there on my gums through the gum. I cannot use the patch due to my eczema and allergies. So I have only a few options of inhaler, vaping or nasal spray.

But Quit coaches advised me to see a doctor before quitting and if problems arised from NRT and to have a backup Nictone replacement product for times when the Preferred Method is giving me problems.

see a doctor ASAP and let us know how you are doing

i dont understand why this wasnt your first instinct i would suggest calling your doctor for any health related issues and to not consult a internet forum.

If i came across rude im sorry but bleeding in your throat needs to be taken seriously and seek immediate help
anyone else experiencing any discomfort or pain/bleeding consult your doctor then let us know your experience and what it was.I dont think we have alot of MD's on the site and i think any doctor will tell you to come in you cannot diagnose this online. I hope you get better and this gets resolved !

you guys all disinfect your drip tips regularly right?
No, I have never disinfected my drip tip, and I personally doubt it matters.
PG and VG can both be used for killing germs, bacteria, fungus, and microbes.

But then, I'm the kind of guy that eats food off the ground.
I don't even have a 30 second rule.
