My throat is on fire!!!

Is this an allergic reaction? I would've posted this under side effects but I was restricted, not sure why.
Anyway, I got my first e cig today, magma vanilla flavored. I tried it out and noticed soon after my throat was hurting, assumed it was just a temporary side effect. Used it once more about 30 minutes later, that was more than 5 hours ago and omg my throat is hurting me so bad. I've tried drinking water, taking ibuprophen but nothing is working. I also have a horrible taste in my mouth that won't go away.
I guess my question is why is this happening????? When will it stop???

Did you get the primer fluid out of your unit before trying it? That has an acrid taste on some PV - many use plain VG but others I don't know WHAT they use.
BE advised it can take some time to get used to even after you HAVE got all the primer out. Myself, my first 510 (primer blown out cos I made sure lol) made my throat fell like i had strep - it almost closed up and was SORE - but I kept taking LOTS of fluids and some throat syrup (that you get if you have a sore throat from over the counter). Warm drinks also help.
Its possible you have an allergy but its more LIKELY its either the primer fluid, the juice you got or you getting used to a new experience.
You MUST drink more now. Everyday, and especially during vaping. Don't drinka bunch one week, feel betetr and go back to your previous liquid intake - from now on your liquid intake MUST be higher or your throat will get sore and dry; this is because PG and VG are BOTH humectants and will BOTH dry out your mucus membranes unless you stay hydrated.

Yes, some people are allergic to the PG that's used as a base in most e-juice (including the stuff they put in your carts) but FORTUNATELY you can get e-juices made with VG which is entirely a different product altogether and should present no allergic reactions for you.

You'll need to learn where to buy it etc... I can't help you will specific vendors, but I believe most e-juice sellers will give you the option to choose 100% VG when you buy their e-juice.

The other thing to consider is, are you sure you didn't just vape the primer from your e-cig or vape on an empty cartridge - those will cause quite a throat burn too.

Good luck!

ps: I'm not really familiar with your brand or I might have had more info...

All good questions and truthfully idk, my husband put the darn thing together so I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he probably screwed it up much like he does every time he puts something together :)
I'm not a big drinker and I frequently have to remind myself to push liquids so that is probably a big issue. I'm having cramps in my calf muscles too, not sure if that's related or not.
Thanks for the tip on cough syrup, I'm going to try that and drinking more right away. I just wish I could shake this, the strep throat comparison is right on, that's very close to the pain I feel.

After 3 days of drinking a TON more than I would normally (including warm drinks, dont use cold, it makes it worse) and having a little honey and throat pastilles, and syrup, it went away and it has never returned. I have a drink on my desk ALL the time now and I could probably drink more than I do, but like you I was never a big one for drinking fluids (I dont really drink alcohol either lol but I do like my coffee). Water is best, but any watery type drink will do (fruit juices, ginger ale, fruit cordials etc). It really is VITAL that you up your fluid intake from now til forever. Hopefully a few days should see you right, I wasn't allergic to PG btw - alhtough it felt like it at the time lol.
