I just bought the Smok G-Priv 2 Kit yesterday, and when I tried it, it was working perfectly fine. However, the next day it started having that burning smell/taste and it started burning my throat too. I checked on some of the threads on here, people said it's because of the PG/VG ratio, some of them said it's because of +70% PG and some said +70% VG so I'm not sure about that but many said that it's mainly not the issue, some people said that maybe the e-liquid contains nicotine more than 6mg, but the e-liquids I have been using have 3mg/6mg and also I usually use the one with the 3mg, and some said that I should lower the wattage and/or the voltage, and I did that, the vape STILL gives me that burning smell/taste and it still burns my throat. This is not my first time vaping (I used to use the Vaporesso Target Mini) but I guess I am still a beginner? I don't know much about vaping.

UPDATE: I can't really reply to each and every one of you, but thank you so much for your information and helpful suggestions!! I highly appreciate it, I haven't done some of the things you have mentioned. I will replace it with a new coil and prime it and do exactly what you guys told me. I can't thank you enough.

That is a burned coil. You probably toasted it in the first attempt. I did mine too on my NRG tank.

But I will subscribe to this thread coz I need some info on the PG/VG thing too. 70% VG is still alright. But I have a 80% VG Alt Zero liquid, long drags make me cough like I have tuberculosis!

I used to caugh the same way. It might have been to juice cuz it don't cough anymore. I'm not sure what the VG PG ratio was. Or perhaps it just went away on its own..
But I had coughing fits with cigarettes anyway.

Add a couple drops of distilled water to the tank with the 80vg. Should help; if it does add 3% DW to the rest of your juice.

If you do change the coil, make sure you thoroughly prime it prior to putting it into the tank. The cotton should glisten like a slushy drink. A few drops won't cut it. Also lower the wattage setting until the coil is broken in properly...maybe half of a tank full. Then you can reset your wattage to a higher setting.

Once you burn the cotton in a tank, that entire coil is ruined and needs to be replaced. You might also have to dump the eliquid in the tank because it has been contaminated by the bad coil.

Another thing to try. When taking your draw, count to three slowly. On counts one and three, press the fire button, but continue drawing during the entire 3 count. You are pulsing the coil but allowing the wick to refresh itself with juice by the sucking action of your draw. Helps prevent dry hits.

I have a question though, do I only prime the coil once when I put it in or do I need to prime it regularly?

Once it’s wet it’s wet unless you vape it dry. If you vape it dry you’ll probably burn it and need to replace it anyway. I guess once then. A lot of drop in coil tanks don’t like to be vaped completely empty. Not sure if yours is one of them or not. Someone here will know though
