I've had it for not even 48 hours and it crapped out on me. :(

It was doing AWESOME all day yesterday and all day today... until about an hour ago. I was using the 2.4 ohm atty that came already attached. I was vaping 70 pg/30 Vg butterscotch, at 3.7 volts and it was doing fine.

Well, I experimented with the other attys, the 1.8 and the 2.8 ohm, and both of those made my juice taste burnt at any voltage, from 3.0 up to 5.0. I took a microhit at 6.0 and within a fraction of a second I knew it wasn't going to taste good.

I want to bang my head against a wall. Why can I not find a tank system that works? Why can't I find cartos that work? Even with dripping, I can get a genuine Joyetech atty one week that tastes awesome, get excited and buy the same exact model and item, and IT tastes nasty. It's so hit or miss that I'm almost ready to say "blank" it.

Nothing works CONSISTENTLY, everything always starts off awesome and then takes a rapid trip downhill, or it doesn't even work at all. With variable voltage, I check the chart, try to match the appropriate atty with the appropriate voltage, and IT NEVER WORKS. I am a VERY, VERY frustrated vapor right now. Very disillusioned.

I use a Torpedo VVV and a Kgo VV.

When I dripped, I could switch attys onto either device and it worked consistently.

I used low-resistance atomizers around 1.5-1.8 ohms at a 4.5 volt setting and it was delicious every time.

I don't understand high resistance attys around 3.0 ohms because I never tried them. But I heard they work good at high voltages. I'm afraid to experiment in the high voltage range, because everything over 4.5 made my juice taste nasty.

I had the Nova using the 2.4 ohm atty set at 3.7 volts, because anything over or under wasn't very good. All was good... for a while... and then bam, it just started to taste burnt. I know that burnt taste well, after my nightmare run with clearos. I took it apart, looked at the atty under the light, and sure enough, my coils were black.

I did what everyone on here and on youtube says to do to clean them, soak in vodka, let dry, then dry burn... It made it taste even more horrid!! I checked the other attys that came with it, and those coils were brand new. I screwed both in and tried both, and I realize you have to break attys in... but these weren't breaking in. I kept hitting and hitting it (waiting fifteen seconds before hits), and it never improved.

I cannot describe to you the level of frustration I'm having right now.

Also, I did nothing "wrong". I did *EACTLY* what the training videos on youtube said to do. For both using and cleaning it. It just failed on me.

You fill the tank with juice. You let it sit for a while. You vape it.

The atty was the 2.4 ohm and I used it at 3.7 volts. The coils became black within less than 48 hours. I already said I was vaping a 70/30 pg/vg mix. Is it the juice? Please, Lord, don't tell me it's the juice, because it's my all day, favorite flavor. Butterscotch.

Did I say I was frustrated?

I'm about 99% positive everyone is asleep. I'm also 99% ready to throw this nova in the trash.

I am going to order more 2.4 ohm replacement atomizers. I will give this thing ONE MORE TRY. One more. After that, if it fails, I'm not even going to sell it to someone, I'm going to put it underneath my car tire and hit reverse.

Why so dramatic? EVERYTHING I'VE TRIED HAS FAILED. I have TWO attys left out of my almost Scarface number of atty and carto purchases that actually KINDA work.

If this is "user error", then, well... I did everything the way I was told I was supposed to do. I feel like I'm screaming into a vacuum. Not a vacuum cleaner, a vacuum, a space with no air.

I've never been so ready to jump off the wagon.

Does it taste like burnt rubber? Perhaps you've vaped at too high of wattage and burnt out the 'skirt' that's surrounding the coil/wick. Twist the cap off of your ViviNova and take out the silicon cap to expose the coil/wick then use a small scissor and forcep to cut and remove the 'skirt' without yanking on coil/wire it too much.

....and while your doing that try opening up the wick notches a bit. You said you let it sit for awhile after filling, do you turn it upside down and make sure the juice gets all up into the coil area, if not try that also. There is a fine line with these with wicking, some need a tilt every few hits, some every hit, and some need notches enlarged to perform decently. Whatever it is, you'll figure it out, don't get yourself to worked up if you can help it.

It sounds like the juice isn't wicking correctly and the dry wick is getting burnt causing the burnt flavor.
Have you tried different juices? It sure sounds like the juice your using isn't wicking.
I'd try a good cleaning, spread the wicks, check the plastic cap and switch to a different juice.
When you put it back together make sure the head is screwed down tightly. I've had them loosen and cause me issues.
Other than that I can't see why its giving you problems. I've been using the exact same setup with 100%VG juice and it's been working fantastic. Let us know if you solve it.

70pg/30vg really should not be a problem, rinse the heads( with rubber cap off) and do a serious dry burn, if you have vv don't go higher than 3.5v. Then put some juice directly on the coil and put tank back together and fill, now try it out. Keep voltage low at first if your using vv. If you get good hits without the burnt taste it's gotta be a wicking problem then.

I have never been so let down since The Phantom Menace back in 1999.

I'm washing my hands of the Nova. Covered in failure sauce.

Clearos. They're like a hot chick who's amazing until you turn her around and realize she's only a hollow shell.

Can I say it one more time? I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with this thing. I'm done. Done.

i feel your pain. exact same way with an ego-t kit i have. very first vape setup. it would work fine for 2 hours, then flood, and i'd lose 3 ml of juice. no rhyme or reason why, it'd just decide to evacuate the tank. then i bought a v-tube, and a vvv tank. best thing since sliced bread. bought 5 boxes of boge's to go in the tank. first box of 5 cartos lasted me almost 2 months. 2nd box lasted a week. 3rd and 4th boxes have been a daily "change the carto" affair. granted they're "disposable" but they should last a hell of a lot longer than a day. last week i bought a couple of kanger t2's. they work great, on my ego batteries. but not fitting on my vtube kinda defeats the purpose. i also ordered a vivi nova tank. it showed up 20 min ago. opened it, looked at it, the positive post is all jacked up on it, bent off to one side.... said screw it and filled it, let it sit. it works, but very un-impressed with build quality and workmanship. probably gonna be emailing about it to get a replacement.

vaping seems to be trial and error. and with all these different units and attachments, made in china, or god knows where, its hard to really tell what you're going to get or how well or long its going to work. but my :2c:, give a kanger t2 a try. im hella impressed for $5 each.

I would say, "I'll give it a try," but every time I've ever said, "I'll give it a try," I tried, and they all failed. It can't ALL be user error. I'm not that dumb. I do my research just as much as everyone else. The quality of the product varies from awesome to shoddy. I am getting tired of the inconsistency of the products. I'm this close to smoking real cigarettes just to spite this whole thing. At least I knew that a Camel tasted like a Camel, each and every single time inside 15 years.

That center post is adjustable. Push it in or push it out under the atty head.

OP, you gunked up the 2.4 atty head possibly beyond saving. You have to rinse out all the parts after each tankfull, especially when using a juice like butterscotch. The other two atty heads were bunk, not unheard of, but certainly plausible. Take your own advice and get some more 2.4s and baby those guys. Baby them like your vape depends on them. Wash and soak them after every tankfull.
