I know there are way too many "which mod should I get" type threads but I wanted some very specific suggestions. I think my wife was a little concerned because vaping became a bit of an obsession for me but after trying mine for a while she is ready to switch! I've considered getting another Protege and I may just do that but I'm having a hard time resisting the idea of a new toy around the house.

I've been considering either the VP1 or VP2. Then I saw GrimmGreen's recent review of the Spade and that seemed to fit perfectly also. I hadn't heard anything about it before, so I am wondering if there are other devices in this category that I am not aware of.

So what category is that? I guess 3.7v with the VP2 being the largest physical size that seems like it would work for her. The standard batteries that come in kits do not last long enough for her, but the battery in the Protege is more than enough ... she could live with somewhere in between.

So, what else is out there and, for those of you that have either a VP1, VP2, or a Spade, what is your opinion of them and how do they stack up against a Protege if you have used one.

Thanks everyone!

theres the super 6 from super T manufacturing..
I'm newish and don't have any mods myself yet but have been compiling info and really that's at the top of my short list of things I've been really looking at seriously
As of now my short list of ones I want runs:
Super 6
VP PT
Xhaler
somewhere under those in no particular order are the vp2, and little chuck...

though I am gonna make myself a battery box mod shortly seems pretty easy..

The first question to ask is what voltage options do you want. After that, it is just a matter of size vs. batter life. Some mods give you 3.7v and 6v, some give 5v and 3.7v. Some are harder to change than others.

Also be sure to check out the battery options for the ones you are considering. Make sure if you want to use 6v that you can use protected rcr123 batteries.

There are a lot of good choices out there no matter what you want....

Hello voidNIL,
Everyone that owns something will chime in and say that is the best one... you know, I got the best.. EX: I did get the VP-2 and it is off the charts good. The size is no bigger than the protege.. ok, maybe just a little.. For the price, Unit, charger, 2 protected batteries. Thats the kit i purchased. I basically use the 510 on it. When i purchased it, I ordered it with the 801 fitting, and purchased the 510 & 901 adapters. Everyting works great.. also purchased a adapter to turn it into a quick led flashlight.. to cool.
So that is my imput on this...

Your right beckah 54,
The VP-uses the 14440 batt. life use is roughly 600mah
The VP-2 uses the 14500 batt. 800-900mah.
in comparison the 801 penstyle i still use once in a while is rated around 280mah.
pretty big difference.
If battery life is your biggest concern, you can go with a chuck, or something else big and than use the 18650 with a average use of 3000mah.
hope some of this helps.

I think with all PV's it comes down to the form factor you want. All the big batt / high voltage units are pretty huge. For the faithful, it's not an issue. (I think some of the guys on this forum would strap a commercial fog machine to their backs if they could!!)

Seems like alot of the women I know that vape prefer standard pen size units (I know, I know, not all women)

I would make sure she sees the video reviews of the different units so she can get a relative feel for the size and form. Then again it may not matter to her.

that looks like a very promising upgraded 510. I'll have to keep this one in mind. I wonder how much replacements will be. Probably double, but would be worth it for better vapor production and longer batt life. I just wish they would redesign the carts!

Sorry, tons of posts got through as I was typing. I am referring to the Jante eGO set that crmartin linked to.

They are working on a new cart design, that is showing great promise.

How about Janty's new eGo. I'm going to order one, as it should have decent battery life and the size is great.

Janty USA - eGo SET

Now that is exactly what I was talking about. Had never heard of that and it fits right in with what I'm looking for, thanks!

I'm a bit confused about the atty. Does a regular 501 work on there?

Thanks everyone!

Had my VP SPade a few days and I'm loving it - Great build, fit and finish, sits nicely in the hand, good vape, good battery life and it looks the business. This thing is a really nice 3.7v battery mod. :)

(The BB from Altsmoke should also be a consideration for you).
