I spilled a huge glass of water right into my VC4 charger a few days back. It was literally full of water.

I quickly unplugged it and let it dry for a few days. Plugged it back in and it worked perfectly.

I have had it for a couple of years and use it every day. Great charger and obviously pretty solid!

Most electronic devices recover nicely from a water spill. There's no speaker or microphone in a charger (unlike cell phones). All components are sealed chips and discrete rectifiers and power transistors and most PC boards are epoxy coated, so they shed water.

Glad your charger works after a dunking!

I'm glad it's working too... Maybe keep an extra eye on it for a minute but yes, many electronics will survive a certain amount of liquid. I forget what exactly I spilled on my smart phone but I was quickly able to get it up, and most of it had run down into the protective case, which I removed and just let everything air dry and then wiped it down with rubbing ETOH.

I don't understand my luck with phones, though. I should be breaking them non-stop but mine is the oldest one in the house (the husband and kid both needed upgrades due to their phones being "dead.") I'll admit to wondering if they really were dead (although the screens were broken) since they are such the "electronics" gurus.... I think mine is starting to end its useful life and/or is being "broken" by my mandatory updates.... Verizon is that sneaky, but I'm just happy I held on to mine for this long. I hate learning new interfaces to be honest.
