Just when I felt I had a handle on my PV devices, batt levels, mods, vv, etc., I decide to jump into the DIY juice arena. I'm sure a variant of this question gets asked all the time, but I couldn't find it...

I just want to make sure I am understanding the arithmetic in all of this before I start.

My goal is to get to an 80/20 PG/VG mix with 12MG nicotine. I'm thinking if I take 30ML of a VG base with 60mg nicotine, and add that to 120ML of PG with 0 nicotine, I'll wind up with 150ML of 80/20, which will translate to 5 30ML bottles each with 12mg nicotine...

Right? And at that point I can just start messing around by adding flavorings to this base (understanding that it is going to dilute the nicotine somewhat)?

Welcome to DIY! I jumped into it fairly soon after starting to vape as well.

The math sounds like it should work for you. Yes, if you use this as your base and add flavorings, it will definitely dilute the nicotine level depending on the percentage of the flavorings added. Based on your target of 12mg nic, 10% flavoring will reduce it by 1.2mg, 20% will reduce it by 2.4 mg etc. Once you have an idea of how much flavoring will be needed, you can always alter your base mix ratios slightly to increase your nic level so you end up with 12mg after flavoring.

You will also change your PG/VG ratio slightly. I've found that this doesn't make a lot of difference to me but you can always tweak it with a little extra PG or VG depending on what you like and what your flavorings are based with. PG is common.
