Hi. I am a newb to this forum and to vaping. I have been using the Blu disposables with OK results for about 3 weeks. I am now 3 days with zero analogs just from using the Blu disposables!!

I bought the Blu starter kit and am very far from impressed. It is going back under the 30-day guarantee today. I did not do a lot of research initially, as a friend recommended the Blu system to me. Turns out, he is now unhappy with his as well.

So I have started doing some research on this site and I think i have decided to start with an eGo or 510 style system. I am looking for some help in determining which one to go with. I have not been able to easily discern the differences between eGo, eGo-c, eGo-t, etc and then there are the Types (A,B, etc).

Parameters for my initial purchase:
Primary concern is that I have a device that is reliable and will provide a good TH and good level of nicotine.
I have a budget of $100-200 to start with.
I am not interested in a lot of modding at this time, but might be later.
I am interested in longer battery life (650-1100maH).
I am interested in having an upgrade path for the future (so 510/eGo sounds right from my research so far).
I do not want to custom mix my juice at this stage, but maybe later.
Unsure if a tank is right, or a tube with a filler material (sorry, don't have all terms down yet) - not really sure of the practical differences between the two.
I am willing to try cartomizers, but I think juice would likely be better for long term price reasons.

I have seen so may options, kits, etc that I can't seem to figure out what to purchase. Can someone please help/mentor me as I get started and point me in the right direction for a starter kit and how much spare kit I need?\

Much thanks in advance for your help.

KGO from Hoosier Ecig supply (under $50). While your budget is up to $200 I would say at first, Provari, by the time you buy your cartos and play with juices you will easily spend your two hundred quickly. I was a heavy smoker and the KGO is a good starter kit, inexpensive, long lasting, with a lot of vape and throat hit.

The advice to me was to start out with something inexpensive so you could have more money to spend on cartos and juices to find your sweet spot. That has boded well for me. If I take off my initial Greensmoke I've spent around $350 in a month on Cartomizers and Juices.... I'm finally starting to feel like I've found some good flavors.

I really like my KGO. You'll learn in time that the Provari is the Cadillac of PV's but buy the time you add in everything I think in my personal opionion you'll be way over your $200.

1.5 Boge or Smoketech cartomizers work very well with the KGO as does the tank of that ohm. I think that provides the best vape. I'm new too. This set up has helped me kick a 1.5pad Newport habit. I have tried the Dekang juices from Hoosier, the tobacco non menthol help quite a bit. I don't like their prefilled cartomizers. My favorite juice right now is the Backwoods Brew juice, from that company. Pinkspot is expensive and its good too.

I'm new, but I've learned a whole lot real quick, and if I can be of help let me know. Great success to you!

Welcom erikm... totally agree with enchanted, I have a KGO as well and absolutely love it! I started with a slim design like the one you have, and while it got me off the analogs, I was soon looking for something with a little more OOOOMPH! The KGO fits the bill perfectly. They last almost two full days before needing to be recharged and the kits come with two batts, so you're not likely to ever be without. I also agree with the carto recommendations... I use Boge 2.0, EMDCCs, and I especially like the 1.7ohm resurrectors from CCV. As for juice,,, well, that's a very subjective thing. I like at 60/40 or 70/30 pg/vg mix,, 12 or 18mg strength. Great throat hit and vapor for me in those mixes. I recently discovered C2GVapes and I seriously love their juices. Shipping is lightning fast and they're of excellent quality. But there are tons of places to buy juice, it takes a bit of shopping around before you find what you like... get sampler packs so you don't end up with a big bottle of something you just don't like.. I'm pretty new at this too, there's definitely a learning curve, but you just can't go wrong with a KGO... good luck to you!!

KGO... I'm a newbie too and starred out with the 510 but already have a KGO I recommend the smoktech dctv2 cartomizer to use with it... If your near Portland check out bill at NW vapors... They have a shop, web site, and I call him with millions of q's... He even talked me thru filling my cartomizer the first time. Great customer service! Just advice from a fellow newbie... Good luck!!!

I started with a 510, then went to a Prodigy V3, and now a Provari. Didn't want to leave the house with the Provari the first week, was so expensive was worried about scratching it, now I don't go anywhere without it! It is truly the best thing I have found. Drip on attys at home when wanting different flavors, throw a map tank on it with punched flanged cartos for driving and going out.

the high end VV's and 3.7's like the Precise+ are fine instruments; the VV's are more versatile than the straight battery mods like the Precise, but you'll find each has it's place.
When you get down to it, learning how to match resistance (Ohms) with voltage, the eGo type devices will match a Provari at a set voltage. Make sure you know exactly what voltage your eGo runs at and then learn what resistances go with that particular voltage. In that case, you will not have any less of a vape experience.

Genuine Joyetech 1100 mah (PassThru) from gotvapes is good at a regulated 3.3v matched with LR atomizers or carto's.
The Kgo (Riva i believe) from Hoosier is rated 3.7v so it's a little hotter, but in that case LR from 1.7 to 2.0 are great.
There are a lot of eGo clones and some are not reliable, but I have had both the two above, and also an eGo 650 mah pass thru. (Pass Thru is where you can plug it into a USB and vape as it charges) which is 3.3 to 3.4.

I also have my VV's ... but where you spend a lot of money for them, you get what you pay for. All the same, you can't beat the economy of a good eGo type device either. Not to mention a good bottom feeder; VV or non VV. As far as bottom feeders go, the good ones are not cheap, in general.

Great to know Ukeman!!! I kind of knew my ohm range but not totally. If I have a 2.8ohm tank what does that do? What about dual coils with the KGO what does that do?

What is a bottom feeder?

Thank you so much!!!! See we all learn off of each others questions. Love it.

Thanks for all of the advice, everyone.

I called Bill at NW Vapors and had a nice chat with him. He is a very friendly vendor!! I ordered the starter KGO kit, a few clear cartos and several bottles of NW branded juice. I will post back in the next few days when I receive the kit and let you know how it is going.

Thanks again for all of the helpful replies.

Save your money and do it right the first time and get yourself a nice mod like a Silver Bullet. I've tossed at least a few hundred at these over the years and just got a Silver Bullet and it's what I've been looking for all along. I used the 36 mg liquids and mix several to come up with my own blend that tastes just right.

I put about 200 into the Silver Bullet buying the 20 dollar 18650 AW 3100 batts, plus the gadget, assorted tank carts, dual core atomizers, etc.

My other older cigarette type ecigs? I gave one set away to a friend and the others lie in a drawer because they just didn't deliver the hit or vaper.

There are other mods equally as good as the Silver Bullet I presume, I just can't speak from experience for them.

So I've been using my new kGo for the last few days and I love it. I have tried several times to smoke an analog, and just can't do it!! Not only is there no taste (compared to vaping), the TH is less and the buzz is less/non-existent with the analogs! I think I'm really gonna quit this time!!

Been using ce4+ clearomizers with juices from nwvapors. So far, great -- have a couple of juice samplers coming in from Mountain Oak and Highbrow. The search is on for fav juices now.
