No one has mentioned yet that exhaling the vapor can actually help you "taste" the flavor of your e-liquid.

Years of smoking damage your taste buds. Until they begin to heal, especially for new vapors, you might not be able to distinguish between one flavor or the next, or the same flavor will taste different after the taste buds heal. So a flavor that became your go-to flavor early in your vaping experience may become just so-so. Or just the opposite can happen; a distasteful flavor my suddenly become a favorite weeks later.

Our sense of taste is greatly influenced my our sense of smell. You can relate to this perhaps better by recalling how food tastes bland during a bad head cold. Blocked nasal passages prevent the nose from using the aroma of food and sending it to the brain. This is an often unmentioned benefit of nasal exhalation of vapor.

you are the first person that has answered my question on if it is any better than just exhaling through the mouth. i am now determined to figure out a way to make it work for me! im gunna start by ordering lower nic levels once my juices run a little lower (i currently have about 250ml of 24mg just sitting around, with more on its way) and then just always blow out my nose to get in the habit.

Great!
I have also noticed that I, too inhale both through the nose and mouth simultaneously when vaping. If I give a quick primer puff, then my inhale has a little vapor in it now, greatly enhancing flavor.

I use a flavor with a bit of menthol added. I inhale straight to the lungs while exhaling through the nose while drawing into my mouth and then inhaling that mouthful and finishing with straight into the lungs. I like the cooling sensation, also helps to open up my nose when my allergies flare. 12mg nicotine btw

now if only there was a simple solution to that painful burning i am getting....

Over time that will improve on its own. It took your body some time to tolerate cigarette smoke. I'd venture to say that you were able to blow smoke through your nose. The same is true of vapor. Be patient, it will happen.

Many people who start vaping through the nose complain of sinus irritation and headaches too. The headaches come from your sinuses not being accustomed to the moist air of vaping. Then couple that with PG and VG being slightly hygroscopic (meaning it absorbs water) can dehydrate you, and your sinuses. And cause headaches too.
So hydrate when you vape, and give your sinuses time to adjust.

When I smoked I would draw into my mouth then 'bridge' it by transferring the smoke into my nose then exhale. I now vape by doing a straight draw into the lungs at first then keep drawing into the mouth (while slightly exhaling through the nose), then bridge it again then exhale. I do it to get all the vapor I can from 1 draw heheh.

If I exhale through the nose right after it's been in my mouth it burns. I'm guessing that's the nicotine.

If I fully inhale it into my lungs after I've mouth-drawn it and THEN exhale through the nose, it's gentle.

See if it makes a difference to get the vapor good and in your lungs before exhaling through the nose.

I used to inhale analogs through my nose (rarely, it burns way more than vapor) as a gag trick. Same principles apply.

Oh, and you don't have to get the trick of simultaneous mouth-draw/nose-exhale down to enjoy the taste and smell of exhaling through your nose. It works just fine if you do it one at a time.

I have had a little congestion the last few days, and I'll tell you what...exhaling Halo's SubZero (a pretty strong menthol flavor) through my nose sure does work to clear some of the blockage out. Would likely work just as well with any of the more powerful menthol flavors.

When I woke up yesterday morning my nose was fully blocked. Sat down at my desk and put the SubZero carto on and took a few nice vapes...cleared right up. Follow with a hot shower = nice happy breathable sinuses. For a few hours, at least. Took the Sub Zero with me to work though as well and when I started blocking up just took a few more vapes and stayed mostly clear.

Nicotine is most readily absorbed via the mucus membranes and more porous tissue (gums, cheeks, nasal passages) so you might find you get more nic satisfaction on a nose exhale once you get used to it. You don't have to take a pull while you're exhaling through your nose at first. I did it naturally like a few other people up above mentioned as well so it was pretty normal for me to pull, inhale into lungs, exhale through the nose while pulling again, inhale, exhale through nose while pulling. Nearly get a steady stream of vapor coming out of my nose when I feel inspired.

Yeah I have always struggled a bit doing the French inhale thing. I might have to practice that and see how I like it.

Actually, I get a mouth full of vapor and inhale through my nose, then back out again.

at my local store, all of the worker exhale through their nose. they appear to continue hitting their ecig while doing this

whenever i try it, i either completely fail, or just get a somewhat painful burning sensation in my nose

my question is, what is the best way to do this, and is there even any real benefit other than it looks cool?
