So, I have this clearmizer (no idea what brand, or even how to spell that word, honestly. Kind of new at this) and an Ego CE-4 battery. Works great most of the time, but recently I've been getting a nasty taste from it, like you would get if you were trying to vape from an empty/low-fluid cartomizer. That kinda nasty, burning taste that stings in your throat and mouth. I've tried cleaning it, once with just water and then with water and alcohol. Both times it worked for a little bit, but it keeps coming back. Am I using it wrong? Do I need a more rigorous cleaning? Does my clearmizer just suck? I've had to buy two of this type since the first one broke on me (the connection to the battery failed), and it's a real possibility that it's just a piece of crap. If it is, what can someone recommend for a better one?

Can you post a picture? Is it one of the ones that came with your battery? If so, it is probably a CE4 clearomizer and those are pretty disposable. I would prolly not even use one out of the house because they are so not dependable.

There are pretty much 2 ways you can go in the clearomizer department. The first would be top coil clearomizers. Like the CE4 clearos, they have a wick that you can actually see and it is usually in the top. While the CE4's may give a bad name to this style, I assure you that something like Vision Vivi Novas are actually quite good. They have better taste than the bottom coil clearo's, but wicking issues can be a problem with some.

The other design is pretty much where Kanger shines. Thus far, they have the Evod, M/T3s, and the much loved ProTank. The wick and coil is in the bottom and you might not even be able to tell where it is if you aren't looking for it. These don't usually have the same kind of wicking issues that are somewhat problematic for the top coil clearos, but they are not as flavorful.

Usually people like one style more. I would encourage you to try a few different ones and see what you like best. When I first started vaping, I loved Kanger clearo's, especially the MT3s. Now I prefer Vivi Novas. Cartos/clearos are all disposable products. They ony last around 2-4 weeks of use and then you have to either change the heads or get new ones.

That sounds like the type I have, the CE4. Local smoke shop was supposed to get some better ones in, but haven't to my knowledge. I'd prefer to get something I won't have to replace all the time. Part of the reason I went to a clearomizer was because I didn't want to have to keep getting new cartos all the time. Ideally I'd like a system I just have to get juice for, as that's easy for me to get and stock up on. Anything that doesn't require me to be constantly ordering parts online would be nice though.

If you like that style of clearo you might want to get the Ce5. It is like the Ce4 but when it goes bad all you have to do is replace the head which is extremely easy and the heads usually cost about $1.50- $2. I have really liked the Ce5's I have but I recently got some Evods and I love them. Like jazzi mike said, try getting a couple different ones and seewhichyou like better.
