Been mostly reading the site for a while now to get an idea about e-cigs, types, brands, etc. to narrow down what I want when I order. The amount of info here is just amazing!

Have pretty much narrowed down what I want to the ego tank type PV. Have seen all the pros and cons and feel the pros outweigh the cons plus there's so much info if I run into problems, which I have no doubt I will.

Initially I narrowed it down to the Joye eGo-T but have seen that Janty has one too, the JETS. Comments seem to weigh in that the Janty model is better than the Joye. Janty is more pricey and seems to be harder to get as well.

This will be my first PV and am saving my pennies now, hope to order within the next couple weeks, really want to get off the analoges and think this will help... hope, hope, hope! :D

Thoughts on the Janty over the Joye or visa versa... anything else I should be thinking about....

Thanks so much!

Welcome to ecf. Glad to have you. I don't know about the Janty, I use ego-t's. Easy to fill and give great vapor and taste. I order mine from liberty-flghts. They offer shipping at 2.99 but send it priority at their costs.(meaning it is more than 2.99) here is a link.
20% off your whole order!
The 20 % discount is included in the link.
Good luck
:)

Janty IS Joye. Many times Janty has designed something and Joye ends up making it, but the Tornado from totally wicked is also a Joye and the Joye at cignots and heaven gifts (china) I know are Joyes not knockoffs or 'eGo-types'. There are others that carry actual Joyes, but those I know are. Same with the 510 - Janty Dura, Totally wicked Titan, altsmoke Yeti are all Joye tech products.

If you decide to go eGo-t I'd recommend the newer B type or cylinder atty and tanks. Best performer for me so far. @ 4 hours with out refill and with the eGo battery 650mAh = @6.5 hours, 900mAh = 9 hours, 1000mAh =10 hours. The 1000 is rather long and for only an hour more, the 900 is better looking with the atty and tank - more balanced. But two 650mAh batts should get you through work or play away from home and are better balanced still.

I think the ego tank is a good choice. I've been vaping for ten weeks now and started on the Riva 510 which was a good starter kit but switched to the ego tank and it is so much easier to use, less messy and a full tank lasts me a full day at work, although depending on your usage you may want to take both units to work. The batteries have the 5 click lock which stops it going off accidentally as there is nothing worse than relying on a unit when you first switch just to find the battery flat.

Good luck I'm sure you will soon discover the benefits of quitting the analogues.

Digs, the info I've found is that Janty originally designed the tank model but it is produced at the same place as Joye but under specific Janty oversight so I know they are very close if not exact. From what I have read from people who use Janty is that they are supposed to be a higher quality. Just wondering if anyone has actually used both to compare the difference. Also haven't seen the problems noted with the Janty as I have with the Joye. Like I said, this is just what I've picked up from perusing the forum for a while.

Totally agree, the LR atty produces more vapour and is probably best if you making the switch. It does use alot more juice and battery so make sure you carry spare stock and battery. I also have the 1000mAh battery but it is a bit long once it is all assembled so i tend to leave this one in the workplace desk as an emergency battery.

Liberty-flights are genuine Joye products also. As the previous poster noted the different battery types, I will let you know I have all three. If you spend a lot of time at a computer you might want to consider the eGo pass-through. Then you never run out of power. And you can unplug it and still vape like a reg 650 eGo. I haven't tried the LR eGo-T attys yet. I have heard they are good, but they do shorten the battery life a little. The reg ones have great taste and produce a good amt of vapor also.

Thanks Kent, was wondering about the type B over the A, prob the 650 or 900 would carry me since I work from home so no prob recharging or even using a passthru.

Thanks geordiekev, have been seeing quite a bit of really good feedback on the ego-t, even from people who start with it. Feel like I am going in the right direction. And definitely hope to be saying so long to the analogs soon too! :)

So appreciate all the feedback, help to know that I am on the right track here and that the research time should pay off in getting a great PV from the start.

Also, since I cannot even be considered a novice yet... what juice ratios seem to work best? No clue whether I'm sensitive to the PG yet obviously. Good place to get a nice inexpensive variety of samples so I can try some different things out? Currently an ultra light menthol smoker, don't really want something that tastes so much of "tobacco" but def like the menthol flavor.

If you work at home, I'd go with the regular 650mAh batts. Smaller and more balanced. The price of the Passthrough is hard to justify when you can almost buy 2 batteries with the same money. Where the passthrough is good is someone who does a lot of driving and you have a fully or nearly full charged battery when you get where you're going. That's with the eGo passthough. For other models - 510 and KR8, 801, 901 having a PT at home is a good idea because of the short time those regular sized batteries last.

There are several ecf registered juice vendors. I usually use a 50/50 mix. Lots of members also like the 80pg/20vg and the 70/30. Several vendors come to mind. Velvet Vapors, fsusa, backwood brew. All have loads of choices and on some flavors can select your mix. I'm sure you will get lots of others telling you there favs also. LOL

Good thought Kent! Yeah, guess if I am home and the batts and charger are here too just an extra batt or 2 would take care of it easily :)

I started out with the BLU Cig and I wish I had known enough then to get an Ego. Can't go wrong with it, I have 3 now. I am about to try the tanks, but right now I am using a Cisco 306 LR atty and I modded a tube for it from a dead 510 and the plastic cover that comes with the 306. Even if you give up on the tank, the battery is good for any 510 or 306 LR atty.

Thanks for the links Kent and S&S, and discount info. Have checked out the supplier forums, info overload... LOL Will have to take some time to do that, especially in finding some with good pricing/shipping. Only prob having to pretty much get everything online is that the shipping can kill you even when find great prices.

Dan, that's one of the things I was thinking with the ego-t, that there are so many compatible parts if I have a problem or don't care for it. Really opens up the variations for me.
