I couldn't agree more, and it's not just TV that is ignoring this, and will continue to ignore this. Unfortunately, the general public is going to listen to and believe the loudest voices..Problem is WHAT people vape, not the fact that they vape. TV is conveniently ignoring this.
You forgot the inherent dangers of using extra strong melamine board in atty production!
I just watched an "expert" state that PG causes brain and lung damage. She didn't mention any scientific studies or documentation to support this claim.
It took about a minute to find this on Wikipedia:
Propylene glycol is a compound which is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under 21 CFR x184.1666 and is also approved by FDA for certain uses as an indirect food additive. Propylene glycol is approved and used as a vehicle for topical, oral and some intravenous pharmaceutical preparations in U.S. and in Europe.
It disturbs me that so many people are willing to jump on any current "band wagon" based on crap science or anything repeated often enough on social media.
Ditto! This is the biggest joke of all the vaping regulations. The one thing that should have been fixed from the begining. Pass one law that makes it illegal to sell nicotine products to minors. Period end of discussion.
They did, and promised there would be "boots on the ground" to enforce it.This is the biggest joke of all the vaping regulations. The one thing that should have been fixed from the begining. Pass one law that makes it illegal to sell nicotine products to minors. Period end of discussion.
I just can't manage to watch the news anymore. I'll let y'all watch it and then read the bad news y'all pass on.
Can't complain about vaping Cheerios, they are heart healthy.[emoji16]Glad I use max VG. Waiting for that to cause kids to be born with 2 left hands or something.
I'm glad the government is stepping in to halt those illicit juice sellers. Drug laws and gun laws have worked so well, we can all sleep sound tonight……
It's a societal issue. Nothing less, nothing more. If 20% of the kid population wants to vape liquid corn flakes they're going to find somebody willing to sell liquid corn flakes. Then someone else will make knock off liquid corn flakes and here we go again.
I just hope they don't start smoking Cheerios 'cause I likes me some genuine Cheerios, not the fake stuff so kids won't smoke it kind like they did with Nyquil and other allergy relief medicines.
I agree. Early versions of antifreeze liquid used polyethilene glycol, which is a toxic chemical. If dogs, cats, or even humans drink it they would get sick and possibly die. Some vape detractors do leverage on the poor knowledge of the general public about organic chemistry, when they alledge about the PG toxicity.
This because Polypropilene Glycol, a food additive, has a similar sounding name to Polyethilene Glycol, which is a toxic chemical meant for industrial use.
The name "Glycol", representing a class of chemical compounds which are an hybrid between oil and alchool, has a sinister sound for some, which play into the hands of those who spread disinformation about vaping e-liquids.
