Problem- The top comes loose when refilling recently.

I got this in August . The Big one. Have already reversed the top gasket to help w/leaks.

I hold the glass and unscrew the bottom, like most people do, I guess. I start unscrewing the bottom and can reach down and the top cap has loosened as I'm doing this.

What's happening here? Is the coil loosening it from the chimney tube?

Not sure what is happening with yours. My daughter and I have been using nautilus Minis since February of this year, and have not had this issue. We did both invest in the metal sleeves, however, since we are both klutzes, and so are not using ours as originally purchased. Do you have a trusted vape shop that you can get to that may be able to help?

TY, GITD. ECF Is my trusted vape shop :)

Alas, but, no. My few locals shops are attended by un-knowledgeable sales staff in the area of MTL. Fancy coils and cloudsbro...

I shall go visit my good friend mr google for awhile.

nautilus was my first tank, its been a while but i think i remember holding the metal part along with the glass while i unscrewed the bottom, also remember tightening it quite a bit which caused me problems unscrewing it i used to just get it snug with little pressure then a 1/8 turn, hope you figure it out

I've been using the Nautilus full size for a long time. 2 years maybe. I had that problem a few times at first. I just cranked the top down just a bit and only tighten the base a little after refilling and never had that happen again. In fact, I had forgotten the top comes off until I read this.

I hold it upside down by the glass and twist the base off, sometimes the coil stays in the center chimney. Sorry I can't offer any more than that.

I could see when loosening the base that it would be possible for the top to loosen - you might be right that if the coil is too tight, it could pull the top away from the glass.... I try to hold the top and the glass while loosening the base.

Check to make sure you don't have any cracks or chips in the threading at the top of the glass?

Nautis aren't in my rotation as much these days. Hopefully it's nothing problematic.

It sounds like you snugged it down to tight. I only grab THE GLASS when opening or closing the Nautilus.

    • after making sure that the top AND glass are finger tight, invert the combination so the open side of the glass is UP and fill it with juice
    • after making sure that the coil is finger tight with the bottom, align the coil+bottom with the center part of the top+glass and insert bottom into the top
    • you may wish to do a spin or two counter clockwise to feel where the threads start. Once found continue with a clockwise turn of the base while holding the glass secure
    • here's where opinions vary - it really only takes a turn or two to seal the atomizer/coil with the top and as long as the lip of the bottom gasket is in contact with the glass it ought to be "good enough" however many of us will screw the two together further until there is some resistance and stop there. The glass may not be fully seated on the bottom, (bottomed out) it really does not need to be
I don't think I've ever unscrewed the glass section from the metal work unless that is what I was planning to do.

In the last 2 weeks I went through the entire stock of glass tanks for my Minis at my local vape shop! Now I went to the stainless tank and have 2 more on the way one is the 5ML. This after almost 2 years of drops no less!

I finally found a Sub Ohm tank that delivered the smooth pleasant vape I was pursuing and that was the Kangertech Pangu with the SS316L .5Ω coils. They do consider the Nautilus X tank a MTL with it's U-Tech coils which they now offer 1.8Ω coils for.

TY for the info! As good as the Nauti is, especially coming from carto, there is room for improvement. I just Really need a 4-5 5ml tank and many don't offer that.
