I've been trying to rebuild my BVC coil but no luck just getting a mouthful of juice. I posted that already. So I'm posing a question regarding the coil housing. I've seen some folks drilling two hole to enlarge existing ones, sliding a horizontal coil to be even with the drilled holes then sliding a cotton wick in there. I am wondering about the two other hole that exist. Wouldn't juice just gush in them since there is no cotton to stop it? Nobody mentions that but it seems likely. Anyone done that or have opinions? Either way I'm going to give it a shot tomorrow and report what happens.

I've considered doing that mod but, the best way to get surface area, wicking and airflow is a vertical arrangement. You shouldn't get flooding since the coil cup is slotted like a kanger head. Only two of the holes are open to the inner chamber. I would imagine that a little bit of juice would come in, follow the ring around the housing and hit your wick.

I did see a video of an English shop that was selling a kit for it. They also have directions up on their site to DIY. Their kit's selling point is the tool they sell you to position your coil and the pre-drilled coil.

Thanks Sunburst!! I saw that video too. I doubt the tool makes it THAT convenient. I have nothing to lose I suppose, it's either do it or throw the cartridge away. I seriously doubt it will be better than Aspires BVC but if it's close then I'll save some dough and do my part for the environment.....er something like that. :toast:

Not quite ready for that yet but I did get my coil mod to work. I screwed up a bit and lost track of what gage I was using along with the bit I used. So 10 wraps on a 5/64 bit gives me 2.7 ohms which is a bit high for my two iTaste batteries but just got an eLeaf iStick goes up to 20 watts so got a nice warm vape on 10 watts the iStick seems to run hotter at the same setting as my iTaste batteries. Anyway it WORKS and I like to win. I need to do a new coil to get down to 20 ohms but it's a win. Here is the vid I watched. http://m.youtube.com/watch?list=PL_R1vI9-ZghV1v-beKXM-J97aS49lsnA-&v=MaTEPTzqbI8 to get the idea.

Thanks for reading. :):vapor:

I will tell you guy's if you can re coil these you might wanna upgrade to an RTA for a much easier build, not having to deal with the tiny head but a big deck with post.....

I have RBAs, but I'm a tweaker at heart. I have to hot rod everything around me. I now have a dead reliable, grab and go, won't really ever leak setup. And, really, getting rebuildable-like flavor and vapor production out of little clearos just makes me smile. Take a hot-rodded mini naut into a vape shop sometime and start hanging with the atlantis people. It's like beating a vette with a early-90s turbo caravan.

Sunburst that's funny. I'm the same way. I just can't help myself. I have to tinker with everything. This mod on the Aspire is giving great cloud. Also sucking down the juice but the flavor is not quite there. It's good but I need to dial back the ohms. I'm thinking 1.8 or 2.0 should get me there. I also have an Evod tank I drilled out one of the base holes and rewicked with cotton. That little guy is great on flavor and the cloud is unreal!!

1.6 to 1.8 works really well. I don't advise it at all since the insulator might not live long, but I am running a 1.1 ohm 26 gauge build in mine atm. It's pretty well amazing at 30-35W. Used it today while plowing and shoveling snow.

I'm about to drill some T3Ses for my dad and then rebuild the coils for him. I'll have to tear into my iclear 16 to learn how to build that since he has one of those. Every few months, he buys a spool of wire if I rebuild his coils. It's a killer deal.
