This is my first post ever please bear with me. My post is about the nautilus by Aspire.
I have been using the e-cig for about a year and a half, I first had the Nautilus Minin it worked geat for months and still does, but the tank was small so i purchased the Nautilus which has the 5ml tank which is great. I have read 4 pages of post about the Nautilus it seems that everybody has only had theirs for a couple of weeks, I have had mine for about 14 weeks. After 7 weeks the air flow ports on the Nautilus stops up and you have to run really warm water thru it every other day the first week and then every day after that to get proper air flow but its is never as good as new. If you don't wash it out when it stops up the next day your Atomizer or coil filter holes will also stop up and you will have to was the bottom and install a new coil as well. Nautilus is aware of this problem but is not doing anything about it and vape store's still have them on the shelf for sale.
They should have been pulled because of a faulty piece of equipment that is being sold. This is shinning a bad light on the vape stores that sell the Nautilus as well as Aspire.
I am not very good at writing but I do know about design flaws that should have been fixed, I have been designing equipment for large companies for over 40 Years I know when there is a problem you don't keep pushing it on the Market.
I feel sorry for the vape stores I have been there when they have very upset people complaining about the Nautilus, but can't do nothing except show them how to give it a bath.
I rate the Nautilus now at a -10.

Hope someone reads this and gives feedback.
Thanks Jim

I have several nautilus's for over a year never had any airflow problems or air holes stopping up or any kind of problems with them.

Replaceable head clearo's require replacing the head from time to time, dark, thick and especially sweet flavors tend to gunk coils & clog wicking material rapidly.

Sounds like user error & gunky juice. If the head is seated properly into the base juice can't get into the air flow chamber in the base unless the user severely floods a head or continues to use one way past time to change.

Most folks understand all delivery devices require routine maintenance.

I've had 2 Nautilus minis for several months and haven't had any serious problems with them. Sure, they will gurgle from time to time but that's because too much juice has gotten into the coil area. Turning the watts up a bit cures that.

When the coils get gunked up, they do draw hard and vapor production decreases. Time to change out the coil.

Thanks for the reply. I am aware of routine maintenance, but it should not be every day.l I use the Eleaf I stick 20w-5.5v battery pack I keep it set on 10 watts for the Nautilus. seating the Atomizer into the base is very easy, I always also make sure i never overfill, I use Cool Breeze Vapor 6mg of Cinamon Roll Juice. The build up in the Air flow Ports is not really gunk or juice is like black sutt. With the Mini i used the same procedures never had a problem. Coils would last 1 1/2 Weeks.
If you google problems about the Nautilus there is a lot of people having the same problems I am. It could be possible i need a new base the spring valve in the bottom could be causing a problem, i really don't think it is user error but I am not going to say it is not until I can visit the Vape store and talk to them.. But for now still unhappy with Nautilus.

Thanks again for the reply

I have two minis. One a month and a half old, the other two weeks. Both have been tootling along just fine, so it doesn't appear to be a new problem, either.

Meanwhile, a cinnamon roll eliquid does sound like something that could clog the coils. I currently have to change the atty in my Aerotank Mega every time I refill because VW's Brown Cow is both dark AND sweet (but oh so good!).

Welcome James! Sorry to hear about your difficulties.
My full-size Nautilus has been my main vape for almost a year on construction sites and whatnot without a problem. I've used a compressor to blow wood chips and sawdust out of the airtube and drip tip on occasion, but I don't recall ever having to wash it out. Then again, my juices are clear and unsweetened.

I've owned 2 full sized and one mini, but I have since moved on the subtanks. I would guess that you have bad coils that are leaking juice into the afc. For me, 2-3 coils out of a 5 pack would leak. I'm not fond of the Nautilus myself. I much preferred the Smok Micro GDC. I started with the Smok, bought the Nautilus after seeing reviews and was disappointed. Do you prime the coils before using? If you don't, you could be burning them a little and starting them leaking.

Another thing to consider, the iStick 20 doesn't regulate power down from its max very well. It may work better to turn the power down to 5watts or so for the first few puffs, then turn it up a watt at a time until you are where you like. Some of the higher powered tanks need a break in like that.

I want to think Top Water for his reply about operator error it woke me up, I used a large Magnafying Lamp and found that the spring in the base of my Nautilus had colapsed and was not making good contact with my coil, when the battery would get to half charge or less is when it seemed i had bad air flow, at vape store last Friday got a new base now my Nautilus works great, that was the only problem.. So i apologize to aspire for the comment and like to say I give the Nautilus a 10+ now it is a great tank. It is good back to vaping with no problems.

Thanks to you all.

@James McElwain - So glad you found the fix for your Nauti. I've been really happy with my Nautis. I've had them for a year. Took a hiatus early because I didn't like the original coils. Once the BVCs got the larger wicking holes and were wicked with cotton, they've re-entered my rotation.

One thing I will do occasionally is take a q-tip and really get down into the base where the contact pin is. Can't always wash it out real well, but the q-tip will slurp up some of the ick that accumulates.

Salut'

P.S. Welcome to ECF :)
