Nautilus (Metal) tank replacement - I taste metal

Ive been using the nautilus metal tank for about 2 weeks. It was great the first week. Then it just sat unused with a small amount of juice in it for the weekend. Sunday night I cleaned it out and filled it up. Yesterday I started tasting metal with every hit. Today the metal taste is a bit stronger. Anybody heard of this? Know a way to make it taste good again? Thanks

I would say something is wrong if you can taste metal from your gear. Juice should not dissolve any metal. Many metals in higher than normal concentrations are not good for you. I would not inhale something that tasted off into my lungs.

Made in China? Made with mystery metal. You should probably never use it again. Maybe someone else knows more.

Better to get the pyrex tank with cover than a straight metal tank. There are several out there if you search for them.

I have the pyrex tank the nautilus came with. the metal tank was bought from my local shop and it is authentic aspire. i only got the metal tank because he didnt have the metal cage protector thing. i have 3 dogs and they are always bumping the table causing my rdna to fall over and i dont want the glass tank to break, so metal. my silo tank should be here today, so will mostly be using that soon.

My tanks are always laying down for the same reason...dogs.

Never had a problem with laying Nova-S tanks or my RSBT on their sides...keeps me from having to leap to grab them when someone bumps the table too

i make my own mod stands w wood and tools in the garage. but only for mechanical so far. im not very good w a jigsaw so my box mods are still falling down.

Try cleaning your tank again, be sure you get the metal drip tip clean too. let it soak in baking soda and water for an hour or so. If that doesn't work replace the metal drip tip with an acrylic tip or glass tip and see if thats your problem. I can't use metal tips either because of the taste, My fillings are the old old style metal and I think this causes me to have a bad metallic taste with metal tips. Hope this helps.

Get the pyrex with metal cutouts like this:

not only does it look cool, but you get the benefits with pyrex with the protection of metal. I dropped my provari and broke my glass tank, bought the metal and was unhappy, and ultimately like this most.

Also, there are silicone bands that fit over any tank to help protect from a fall. Some vendors hand them out free with their names on them. O-rings and and girls ponytail holders will work.

Authentic Aspire is still made in china.
I haven't got around to making a proper holder yet. My plastic and coffee cup solution works for now. Not the manliest mugs though.

You are referring to the steel replacement for the mini.
I have the stainless tank and haven't had any issues but you never know. It's coming from China with no American QC.

My guess is that you put your tank parts in the dish washer. DO NOT PUT TANK PARTS IN THE DISHWASHER. Dishwasher detergent leaves a film on aluminum which gives the metal a "metallic smell or taste". Instead, use hot water, a sealed baby bottle/sports bottle, some dawn dish detergent, and a baby bottle brush or toothbrush.

Also, acid is known to degrade aluminum which can leach into fluids/food/fabric or fingers. Aluminum is just all around, not better than stainless steel. Unless you're talking about a beer can or airplane.

If you got one of the cheap ones from China, I believe that your tank is aluminum and not stainless steel. I could be wrong though. Just my $0.02

Take into consideration if you buy the caged tank from Aspire that it is not a true 5 milliliter tank it is only a 3 milliliter tank

All the websites that I've gone to that sell it and have the specs listed seem to list it as a 5 milliliter tank but its really not its only a 3 milliliter tank
