'Near shorts' in EM LR 801s

After viewing Scottbee's comment in the 'riva lifespan thread' I believe I now have an explanation for the troubles I've been having.

5 out of 6 Riva batteries dead within 2 charges using EM LR 801s.

Circuit protection on my Fistpack activates continually when using EM 801s. It is very sensitive to shorts.

AW 18650s in an Indulgence won't work with EM LR801s. (I'm thinking these batteries have sensitive circuit protection)

This problem is prevalent with all my 801 atties more than a week old. I don't have these issues using different configurations.

Anybody else experience this? Maybe Eastmall needs to address this.

After seeing your post, I decided to try one of the EM LR801's that I received last week.

I'm using an AW 18650 on an Ali'i bottom-fed device with no problems so far.
I'll try it on the Ali'i VV once I take delivery of it and re-post if I run into any problems.

Just a single data point for ya...
