I just read this on another thread. Is this true? I can't find anything on it!

New York Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo

The man who pushed HARD for the New York ecig ban. His bill was signed into law, eCigs can no longer be sold in the State of New York.:(

Andrew M. Cuomo - DEMOCRAT.

The message you quoted doesn't exactly contain that information. Here's the message you quoted:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...icialy-won-facts-your-screen.html#post1712015

It references the unanimous vote by the New York State Assembly in April:

New York Moves Towards Total E-Cigarette Ban // Unanimous 125-0 Vote Follows Email From ASH

The bill is currently dead, but could be resurrected in the Fall, so staying on top of this and being proactive by making your voice heard is a very good idea:

Yeah in a few of the initial posts on various other forums it was posted as it had already been signed into law. I think it was due to the OP's lack of understanding about the process involved in terms of passing it to law.

Nobody go posting the schoolhouse Rock Bill on capital hill video please. ;)

Anyhow.. Easy mistake to make and understandable. A correction was posted once it was brought to their attention.

I agree that tax has something/alot to do with it, but I also think alot of it is based on ignorance of our elected officials and to some degree most individuals out there. They see a report from the FDA and they base everything from that. I hope there's a way to make this into an issue in the comming months. We should be pushing state assemblymen and senators on where they stand and why - unfortunately, to the average non-smoker, the term "electronic-cigarette" has all kinds of negative connotations... and once you explain what it is, the next question is "but you still get niccotine right?"- along with a look that could kill..... thats the reality and ignorance of what we're up against ...

It is definitely a tax issue in mind. Here in NYC I paid $11 dollars for a pack of Marlboro.
wow, Marlboros here in Texas are 53.99 a carton, but i smoked cheap little cigars that were 25.99 for 2 cartons.

i plugged your price into my spreadsheet for vaping expenses, at that rate i smoked i would have spent over 5 grand for 238 days.

hopefully now you are saving LOTS of money vaping and not giving all your money to 'da man'.

I agree. Ignorance - and the willingness to believe anything that supports the position they've taken as a result of ignorance - is the most formidable opponent to electronic cigarettes. The moment most people hear the name "electronic cigarette," they probably make up their minds that they don't like them, or at least that they don't want to like them. Any description we provide after that is literally an argument in defense of something they've already made up their minds about. That puts us in a delicate position, because when people are defensive, they hear even less than when they aren't.

Just wondering when people will realize it's time for a freakin revolution. This isn't freedom! Unless they can prove something infringes on the constitutional rights of another, by default it should be legal.

Ironic that the country founded on small unintrusive government with limited power is more dictatorial in many areas than communist china. I'm so angry i can't see straight

I'm so with you! We aren't going to see anything change for the better unless we do something radical to change things. So who's a** do we kick first, when do we start, and give a place and time, cause if I can be there and then, I will be. I am so fed up with all of this sh**! When will the government realize that adults don't need to be protected from themselves? I don't need to be protected from me, I have my own back. And I don't need government to make all my choices for me, in fact, I don't need them to make any when it doesn't involve anyone else. As long as I'm not bothering or affecting someone else, leave me alone. If they can't leave me alone, then I start feeling like bothering them back! So, when and where shall the bothering begin?

Every day the government keeps PVs out of reach of the general public is simply more blood on their hands. Their wilful ignorance is killing people. It's as simple as that.

The government makes me more militant day by day. We need something like the Tobacco Liberation Front that throws tar on these legislators and raids tobacco farms.

Kids can get their hands on Analogs and Big tobacco hopes that happens. Did they mention that at this Assembly meeting? NO. So dont ban analogs, just the safer ones. Also note that that terrible Chemical that really stupid lady was talking about is in Asthma Inhalers, do kids use those? YES. Mouth wash, Tooth paste, yes they get spit out but some still gets swallowed. Hair Spray, (goes in the air and is inhaled) Thats ok too, did they mention that, NOPE! Do doctors apporve of ecigs? did you ever see the show called The Doctors? They promoted it and they are DOCTORS!!! My doctor said tell me how to show this to my other smoking patients. That idiot that said he was a smoker but said his 11 year old Nephew can get it too, LIAR. If he were a smoker and he switched we all know he would not be against us. If his 11 year old Nephew can get his hands on them, then spank that kid, DONT SPANK US!!!!!!!!!!
