Got your back bud...but Sam seemed to be very willing on all fronts so I think your good.
I'd give a call and chat with him....

It looks like it is supposed to keep firing after releasing the button, but only for like a second. Some people have had to mess around with the spring, as it was the battery putting pressure around the fire button and causing it to continue firing. I would say to unscrew the end cap until it stays powered on and see if the problem persists. If not, that's the problem and you can either cut the spring down, heat it up and retract it a little at a time, or just have it switched out.

Trying it now....it will stay powered until the cap is completely unscrewed....so I only have it screwed on about a quarter turn. We'll see if it works better.

So after using my ss wicked nova, the ohms have dropped to about 1.9....seems to jump around a little, not much, like now it'll go between 1.8 and 2.0...is it normal to drop in ohms after some usage? And to jump around like that.....or do I have a possible short.....or something else?

If everything is sound, it should rise in ohms a bit, after breaking it in. The fluctuation you are experiencing is probably due to a short in the coils..

So.....do I take a needle and try making sure none of the cools are touching?

Wait, after re-reading your post: you are only experiencing a .2 jump in ohms? It might not be much to worry about, if that is all it's jumping. I'd be more worried if it starts going haywire. I would still check for shorts..but it doesn't seem to be one of those make or break situations..yet.

Yeah, that's one way. It might be further down in the post as well..but a good place to start! Make sure you have a good, clean initial glow and then when you have liquid feeding to it..make sure there are no hotspots. Using a needle to separate the coils should help alleviate that issue.

I looked at it in better light and it looked like the coil might have been touching the side of the nova head...I tried moving it and it was back to 2.5 now it's down to 2.3....if it keeps jumping I'll empty my tank and take it apart to mess with it more!

That will do it.. It ended up grounding out and cutting off the full coil.. Seems that you have the problem isolated and as long as you get that part of the coil to sit well, you should be golden! WTG, Jake!

That's the beauty of this place! I'm just glad some the crap that spews from my mouth is somewhat useful.. It's also great to have a guy like you stumble in here and stick around!

Yeah, Paulie wasn't too happy to hear Hawk wasn't satisfied with the "monkey" or the delivery service..He wan't you to change your tune..

How long before you usually notice the constant firing?

The constant firing has only happened probably 5 or 6 times since I've had, so just over a week.....what was really bugging me was the not firing....or where I would push and hold the button and it would fire for a second and then stop. I would either have to kinda push harder or wiggle it around a bit. Since loosening the cap the button feels a lil different and it's fired every time so far....we'll see if it keeps it up.
