Man, I really suck at rolling these ss wicks. I can't seem to get them tight enough!

Both. I can easily fit a sewing needle through the center of it, and I want a fairly tight wick

Ok, I got the wick in and the coil done. I got 1.3 ohms. Got rid of the hot spots and it was glowing pretty even. The only problem I have that I don't understand is that sometimes when I push the button on my zmax it will show 1.2ohms, but it won't fire. It shows the ohms for a couple seconds then goes off. If I move the wick a little it will fire again. Then it'll go back to not firing.
Any ideas?

Hawk, I kinda got my AGA-T2 working tonight. When it's working it works well! Definitely glad I got it. If I can just work out this one little kink I think I would be in love. I think I'm going to have to drill out the air hole a little bit. It's a pretty tight draw, other than that it's all good. Tons of vapor and good flavor right off the bat.

Could just have a little area of the wick that wasn't oxidized fully, creating a sort of short..

The resistance will naturally go up as the coil is heated.. It will also (or should, rather) increase as the coil gets broken in.
Sounds reasonable to me.....tomorrow I'll take it out and oxidize it some more
Also possible that the coils were touching..Either way, it's sounding good so far! Everything else working good on it, so far?
I just thought it was weird how it'll read 1.3 if it fires, but 1.2 if it doesn't.......so for now I press the button and look at the screen....if it shows 1.2 I know it won't fire, so I try it again.....if it shows 1.3 I continue on like normal
Coils aren't touching. I did a 4/5 wrap with 30ga kanthal. I'm really liking it....when it works. I'll have to mess with it some more tomorrow. I think I'm going to have to drill out the air hole a little bit. The draw is pretty tight.
You want the air hole lined up with the wick, right?
Yessir..unless you want a cooler draw.
Sounds like everything is in order, for the most part..just some minor tinkering!

I'm wondering if my zmax is going crazy too. I've put a couple different nova heads on and it is reading them all really high......higher than normal. I just put in a 1.8ohm head and it is reading 2.4-2.6ohms. Normally it reads about 2.0. I'll have to borrow my Vamo back from Joe and see what it says on there
