It's black..pretty sure the flash just lightened it up. Although, not as black as I was expecting (Not as glossy as I thought). Haven't used it though..Jen made me wrap it in bubble packaging and into a box so she could wrap it and throw it under the tree..

Now that I have had it in hand..I totally wish they still had Black Chrome available..but, she is nice the way she is. Not a DEEP black, but a nice blasted black that wont wear down. I would definitely want to see a white one in person before I made that decision, but if I got a second one it would probably be white

My windsheild wipers went to hell on me yesterday. I fixed them tonight. I'm pumped.
I actually came back in the house with more, and thicker-burlier, body hair. It's awesome...lol

I can literally build a house(sans major plumbing/electrical...MAJOR)...but other than knowing where that wiggly gas feeder thingy goes...I know nothing about cars. And I don't want to. But I fixed them and I'm proud....

I can literally build a house(sans major plumbing/electrical...MAJOR)...but other than knowing where that wiggly gas feeder thingy goes...I know nothing about cars. And I don't want to. But I fixed them and I'm proud....

Yes, its silica wrapped with SS..either a single strand or doubled. The one that I did was wrapped at the top of te SS (where the coil wraps around) and through to the bottom, leaving the two ends dangling against the bottom, slightly longer than the SS wick. For a horizontal setup, the silica is just wrapped by the SS and is left hanging into (or on, depending on the atty) the bottom. The benifit would really be up to the user. At one point it was(is) the belief that it helps with wicking and saturation..also, when its wrapped around the wick it helps keep the mesh insulated from the coil.

I watched a video on YouTube of a guy making a ss/fiberglass hybrid. He pretty much only had the ss where the coil was. I still haven't ordered any wire....need to get on that!
