So I rolled another wick last night....took forever to get it tight enough....wrapped the coil.....for the life of me I can't get rid of the hot spot at the top....my coils all look even....it's frustrating because the first 2 coils I did for it were pretty much perfect with no hot spots....I've got enough wire for 1 more coil...

I have heard many complain about the top producing hot spots..I would imagine trying to lessen the gap between wick and post and ensuring it's not too tight at the top

I think I'm gonna try wrapping it on the wick, but with the wick out of the aga...don't know if I'll do it tonight though.

I wrap the wick out of the device. I read somewhere 3 ways to eliminate the top hot spot. Bending wick closer to the post. After coming off top coil and going aroun the post, wrapping the wire around the top coil heading back towards the wick....essentially making that troublesome hot area a doubled up wire. And dammit....the third one escapes me right now. If I think of it I'll let you know. I want to say it had something to with swinging a dead chicken over your head, nakedness and natty light, but that may have just been part of my weekend plans intermingling with my other thoughts.
So is it the quilted or not. I certainly wasn't going there for food. Hard to f up a beer and tartan attire.

Today is day 16 on my current mega xxl carto. Flavor has waned and vapor....well it has too but still going way to strong to retire.
And I just received 10 more yesterday

I have 3 weeks logged on my current one.. Like you, some diminished flavor and vapor, but not enough to open the next one just yet

Got my eye on a sea foam chiffon. It really highlights my figure and that color makes my eye color pop.
