Sorry for the crappy pic....I usually do the s wrap....I thought last night you told me to wrap it around the pos post the other way....

From the pos post down it is clockwise, from the neg up it is ccw.....it's all in how you look at it :D

Well, the scenario was if you are wrapping CW to "tie-off" CCW.. the opposite of the wrap. Soooo, yeah..depends on how you look upon it!

ya the bf has something at first i thought it was all i needed but now not so sure... i probalby should clarrify having lots of questions to pretty i dont know nothing.

To be honest, I found it difficult to follow that train of thought, lol.. Pretty sure I grasped the gist of it though. Well If you would like, I can just lay out what one would need to rebuild and maintain the RBAs that you have incoming

hahah sorry was reading that article i posted when i typed that last post here. Anyways the BF has a few meters, he calls them volt meters, i do not believe any of them are digital in anyway. I am not sure if they are the right thing i need, to test the ohms of what i make. Now coming with my drunker is spare premade coils i just need to attach them if i can even figure that out. The phonix is coming with extra coil and wick and i think one premad coil attached. I havent order anymore wire or wick as i am not sure what size style and type to get.

On the top pic it looks like your coil is wrapped CCW around your wick and isn't crossed back over and around.. Could be wrong, as it is a tad difficult to make out

You all confuse me with the clockwise/counterclockwise thing. Like Jake said..it depends on how you look at it....however...on the top pic it looks like you could have continued that top coil a bit farther and come back on the pos. post from the backside. That shortens it up just a smidge.
I'm back....but I'm failing quick. Somebody enlighten me.

That's what I'm back to doing now.....I'll just say this again.....it's amazing how hard it is to get rid of the hot spot at the top!

Hmm, well if there are settings on those meters that read ohms, amps, volts, etc. you are good.. otherwise you will need on of those. You can find them for pretty cheap, especially at Harbor Freight. As far as the coil, it is going to depend on your target resistance. From the sounds of it, you are going to want to end up with 2.5-3.2 ohms? As far as wick goes, you can use cotton/bamboo yarn, silica, or many other cotton items. The silica can be had at many vendors, the yarn at a hobby store.

I missed you, baby cakes! All the talking you did about going CW and CCW, then coming from the backside, has me all hot and bothered!

Could try the ss washer thing on the pos post or wrap on the pos post and back on the top coil heading back to the wick. Essentially doubling up the wire on the top coil.
Have you tried a braided coil?
Are you holding your tongue right while coiling?

Haven't tried the braided coil....thought about wrapping extra wire around the lead to the pos post, probably will end up with that....don't want to because I know it can be done the right way....oh well.....my I'm not holding my tongue right...

I actually perfer 1.8 to about 2.4 i am using higher only because these are easy cartos to replace and thow away as my juice is not really that good, and the added benefit that the higher omhs is making the batter last longer in my robust. So the thickness of the yarn isnt going to make much difference? What about size of wire, i noticed the drunker comes installed and all the replacements are with nichrome wire is kanthal gonna hurt it? I also cant seem to find a gauge on the nichrome that is preinstalled. Just asked him his meter thing it reads ohms or voltage but its not digital its a needle at least the one here is, he has a digital one at work.
