Necro Policy?

I have lurked for a couple of months now and just registered. I was about to post in a thread but noticed the last post was three years ago. Some places frown on this though I can't imagine why. The same places then turn around and bust someone's balls about using the search function... smh So, how do we fee about thread necromancy on this site?
and yes I do know I must post in this sub-forum five times after having registered and read the forum guidelines.

I don't know how the general membership feels about it. I think it's sometimes fun to bring up an old thread. I'd put a disclaimer on it though, "I know this thread is old, but..." Otherwise you're likely to have a couple of people pop in to tell you, "dude, this thread is like 3 years old".

Usually people will not fuss at you for not searching a topic. This forum is huge and fast moving, and the search function kind of sucks, IMHO. People will sometimes refer you back to an old thread that they think will be useful, but it's often done in a pleasant way rather than a condescending way.

It depends on what the post is about. Gear is changing quickly, when I started about 6 months ago there was no such thing as a 50w regulated main stream mod and now the 100s will be out soon if not already. Other things not so much, a juice that tasted good 3 years ago probably tastes the same now.

The system that we have automatically closes threads that are 6 months old and no activity.

Items / product changes so quickly around here.

If you see an older topic that is closed and wish to discuss it simply create a new fresh thread and link that closed thread.

Welcome...
