NiMh's are not suited to vaping.

For the sake of clarity

+NiMh's actually have enough amps for vaping, their power density puts them roughly next to LiMN
+NiMh's last a lot longer (in terms of charge cycles)
+NiMh cell types are a lot easier to replace since they are sold literally everywhere
-NiMh's do suffer from memory effect but modern ones aren't all that bad and can shake it pretty easily
-NiMh's have about half the energy density of high end Li-ions
-NiMh's are generally produced in cell sizes/voltages that are not suitable for direct application on the heating element with a single unit

In my book though, all sources of electricity are suited for vaping :D they just need the right kind of pampering. Not very long ago when I lost the batteries i had packed with me and the rest was back home, I resorted to lugging around a small 6v led acid which got me through those weeks like a champ!

Well I have a magneto & black hawk panzer (Panzer <3 ) with the following set up:
(All batteries purchased from Trianglevapes)
1 efest battery 2000 mah 10amps
2 efest battery 2500 mah 30 amps.
Kayfun tank & or Nimbus RDA

All good?

I don't know the reputation of Trianglevapes, so I have no opinion if the batteries they sell are legitimate name brands. Someone else who knows them may chime in with this info. I buy from Illumination Supply, Orbtronics and a couple of other places I trust not to sell counterfeit batts.

Both those batteries are fine for mech mod use as long as you don't draw more current from the battery than it can safely supply. IMO the 2000 mAh 10A is good down to about 0.6 ohms. The 2500 mah 30A to about 0.3 ohms minimum.

If you don't understand where my numbers are coming from you should really read some of the links you've been given in this thread. This stuff is pretty basic and easy to grasp. Having a DMM, knowing how to use it and using it when you build coils is also easy to do and important for your safety, specially if there is any doubt about the quality of your batteries.

Vape safe :thumb:

Yes, NiMh's can be vaped successfully and have been. OTOH, hardly anyone around here has actually done it so there is not much info available on the ins and outs involved. And Icey doesn't seem to want to do any work to figure things out. IMHO sticking with Li-ion is the safest course of action here. At least there are a bunch of people here who can advise from experience :thumb:

Actually I did the reading. Hence why I took caution and purchased the batteries. Not only that but also guides on ohm meters range appropriate for building
I never usually go down bellow 0.8

Also the batteries of the website purchased was suggested by the forum here.

Good to hear that Icey. You're well on your way then.

Vape on and enjoy :thumb:

Thank you Ryedan. From anyone else that has read this thread please understand it's hard enough taking all this wave of information in all in one swamp and playing it safe as a vapor. Try to understand I might be new to all this but I know some common sense before throwing in any battery in a tube or instantly wiring that mount. I was too used to my MVP itaste some time ago until I figured mechanical > regulated chips. Regulated chips usually lets me hold the button for like 6-7 seconds before it starts to blink to pause. Mechanicals allows me to hold the button as long as I like :)

Just purchased a sterallie atomizer too. I got annoyed by my kayfun.

You're welcome Icey :)

I was curious and Googled sterallie and couldn't find anything. Do you have a link to that atty? You have me curious about it now ;)

I purchased it from ebay. A good quality clone is with the GOLD plated or copper plated connector for instant firing. If you want the link from ebay, sure. As far as other vendor goes however, all of them are either stainless steel, nickle base, or brass. They don't hit so well.
