Might be time for a kayfun if you want to experiment with rebuilding. I thought it was going to be hard but it was pretty easy. Once you figure out a kayfun you'll retire your nautilus.

Got to agree with you. I've been vaping for about 4 months and got my first kayfun a couple of weeks ago. Didn't take long at all to learn how to wick and make good coils. It's more work to setup initially but man how reliable they are. It never leaks or floods and the consistency of the vape is top notch. Never any dry hits and there is no comparison to flavor over kanger heads.

I have a Kanger Aerotank Mega. Sure it's not under $20, but it's fantastic. Holds a lot of liquid and the dual coil atomizer works real nice. I use the metal casing it came with and feel that because of the metal casing, it is easily one of kanger's best products. Check it out. I use this and a kayfun lite interchangeably. With both tanks full, I can easily last a day without a need to refill!

I use a cheap carto tank from surevapes.com made by Boge... Was $6.49 (tank is not glass). Grab some Boge XL LR cartomizers punched or slotted and you're good to go.

Also the Kayfun lite plus v2 clone is also great as well (mine is the EHPro model and works great. People seem to like the Taifun GT as well.

The great thing about the rebuildables like kayfun etc.... is cost is high in the beginning, but much much cheaper over time with more control in how you like your vape to be. Use organic cotton as wicking material, different types of kanthal and an ohm reader and your done for a while.

I still use those cheap boge carto tanks (very light weight as well) and the kayfun lite plus v2....nautilus is put away until I learn a solid method to rebuild. I got my kayfun from 101vape but they are out of stock for $39.99 plus shipping... Saw a slightly different model (extra screw for air draw on bottom) for $29.99 plus shipping Atomizers : Kayfun Lite Plus V2 Dual Airflow Clone by EHPro

Good luck.

That carto tank looks a lot like the one that busted in my pocket. Just pyrex instead of plastic. I saw it would cost 30 bucks for a tank on ibtanked... That seems a bit much but is it worth it?... and I honestly would rather not bother with rebuildables, I rarely ever burn a coil, and it's easier to just pop a new one and go.

that sounds like the definition of a carto.

if you're prepared to keep buying coils then you should consider a carto/cartotank system.
a carto is basically a standard sized atomizer head; use the carto and toss it when it starts tasting bad;
the tank goes around it so you can keep it supplied with eliquid.

Now I see what you mean, the plastic ones are near 22, so spending 13 bucks more no longer seems bad for something thats glass so I never worry about what juice to be had. Can you buy the atty's from anywhere? Or does it have to be specific to that site? I do like that it's essentially just two o-ring bases and the tank with the carto, it means easy maintenance..

cartos are standard; although theres about 3 sizes; regular , large (long) and extra large (longer).
510 threaded; a non punched prefilled carto can screw directly onto your battery;
the bland punched cartos are made for tanks and you supply your own liquid.

brands: boge, ikenvape, smoktech.

Then what is the difference then, between a carto, and say a regular tank with a normal atomizer?

carto is on the right.
you can't open it up and rebuild it.

it doesn't have wicks sticking out; instead it has a big fat wad of stuff inside for soaking up the liquid.

Well yeah, but what makes a carto tank easier or more desirable than a standard tank, and what ohm should I get as far as a carto or atty, I have a lavatube 2.5 and usually never burn at higher than 4 watts. I usually use the ecig for flavor and occasionally to be silly with friends I will do a trick or two, so bigger clouds are never a bad thing :p

Currently using a Kanger Aerotank clone called the T-Protank. You can get them on Fasttech for $7 and they're just as good as the original and use the same coils. I recommend just about any authentic Kanger tank as well.
That looks nice! Sounds like the drip tip isn't high quality but that's replaceable. I might have to grab a couple of those.

IMHO, a cartotank is more desireable than a clearomizer because it provides better flavor and more consistancy (less dry/burnt hits or flooding issues). It is an entirely different wicking system than a clearo. The entire carto is filled with wick (more surface area), while a clearo only uses tiny string wicks to the coil (less surface area).

For a mechanical mod I suggest low resistance (LR) cartomizers. For a regulated VV/VW mod I recommend standard (SR) or even high resistance cartos. You want to get the pre-punched cartos with the holes already in the cartomizer. I also recommend getting a cartotank accessory (refill) tool.
