My spring fell out of my extended cap while changing batts this morning. So far I have had no success with putting it back in, I've tried the pencil eraser suggestion by MonsterKenny but that didn't work for me.

Does anyone have a extended cap spring installation tip or suggestion that they can declassify to help me, current, & future ProVari owners out in case this happens to them?

Bordering on frustration right now, but I do have 18500's I'm using with the standard cap in the meantime. My usual 20mls a day is gonna take hit soon.:p

Tried the pliers, tweezers, & just mashing it in. No joy. I pulled out my spare spring & this one went in without too much fuss. I think the spring in there before is maybe a little over sized. I'm already planning to make a jig with a clear tubed Bic or Papermate pen with the ends off. Make 4 slots in it to allow it to shrink like a compression fitting or collet. Push the spring in on one side. Line it in to the hole, then push it in place with something that fits inside the pen tube and pull the tube out.

Having this happen was my dreaded fear and as my buzzards luck would have it, my spring fell out 20 minutes ago after the device stopped working suddenly and I opened the end cap to inspect. I couldn't get this spring, nor my extra spring in so I just reinserted the battery on top of the spring and everything worked again. I may eventually use a drop of glue for permanent placement, but for now I'll just be careful whenever I remove the battery.
