I am looking for a two bay charger.
I currently use a nitecore and hate it
i have tossed a few batteries from not being able to charge.

i never chnge more than two batteries at a time.
so I only need a 2 bay.

i would like a digital display that will tell me what my battery is charging to, and if my battery is bad.

i am thinking xtar as I see them reccomended a lot. But the price ranges from 20 to 60.
and I can't seem to really figure out the difference between them.

i use 18650 mostly aw imr.

pleasee send me some advice!

I have been super pleased with this charger. It also has some very good reviews.

Hey, I am doing the same reseaching now.
I was thinking to buy a nitecore D2, but after I saw this review, Review of Charger Xtar VC2
I then ordered this XTAR VC2 and it is on its way now. Feel excited about it and can't wait to get it now.
I buy it for my father.:)

Mangguo, do you realize that charger is powered only by a USB power supply? It is also on the slow side, being 0.5 amps max for each battery, but it will slow down if it feels the USB supply can't keep up and it will not show you that it has slowed down. Now, I charge my 18650s at 0.5 A all the time, but I have 1A available if I want it. I also would not use this connected to a computer.

I'm not suggesting there is a problem with it, just wanted to point out these things.

I get it.:) XTAR says that their USB supply is meant to do convenience for charging, With any USB adptor, the charger will be able to work. I take that as convinience. You are right. The charger should not be connected to a computer. I won't do that anyway.
Do you feel that it is not safe to use AC adaptor? Too much heat will be raised.
Well, I know from XTAR's website that if need to charger at one Am, then only one battery can be charged. For two batteries, only 0.5Am will be supplied.
Won't be a problem for me.

What brand batteries did you get and where did you buy them? what voltage are the batteries at that wouldnt charge?
(EDIT - BRAND - sorry you did say AW IMR)

I know some have had issues with the i4 over charging their batteries, but it also has some protections for not charging over discharged batteries as I recall. Worth looking into...

Xtar vp1 is nice, especially if you don't want to have to set the voltage and if you aren't charging 26650 batteries.

It's a bit more fool proof.

The vp2 is great with more flexibility, charging 26650s, different voltages available for the flashlight nuts.

Both charge a little under, iow 4.18-4.19V, which is good for the batteries.

I don't think the vp2 is needed, if you don't charge anything over 18650 in size, but either one is terrific IMO.
