so far ive tried a few different types of tanks/cartos clearomizers with my Ego battery and have yet to find one that totally suits my needs.

ive tried:
liquinator tank with boge lr carto - my favorite, but lately has not been working very well (carto does not hold the liquid it simply drops back into tank and i have to constantly prime it)

dct - hate it, gets super hot super fast and tastes bad

stardust clearomizers lr and rr - would like it if it didnt give a weird plastic aftertaste.

im really looking for something reasonably self contained that i can keep in my pocket at work. i dont have any personal space at work so i cant keep a bunch of stuff around to fiddle with and i dont want to keep anything more in my pocket than i have to. its also important to me that it doesnt add any strange flavors to my e liquid, i like to vape bobas. was thinking of trying the vision vivi nova v2, but was wondering if there was anything similar i should also check out? whatever i buy needs to be able to hold at least 1.5ml of eliquid so that i dont have to do any sort of refilling at work.

Other than the fact it will look a bit goofy on an eGo, you can't do better than the vivi nova V2. I suggest grabbing one while you can still get them somewhere besides Healthcabin in China.

If you can put any tank in your pocket, it's this one. I haven't had mine leak a drop from anywhere. There is nothing similar that works so well. You can also re-build the coils on them so easily it's hard to believe. You get 3 head/coil assemblies with it. One is probaby too high resistance to work good with an eGo, but you can just change the coil.
There is no other rebuildable tank anywhere for $15 or less.

It doesn't leak, it adds no flavor. There's no silicone exposed to the coil, so no burnt rubber taste, and it wicks my 70% VG just fine with very minimal tilting required when the juice level gets very low.

And, very important, are you first filling the cartos properly before placing in tank?

yes i am. i vaped cartos only for a while before i switched to a tank system. the problem i have been having as of late is that the cartos dont seem to be holding the liquid after the first few hours. ill prime the tank, pull the drip tip off and literally watch the liquid fall back down until the carto is dry looking again. doesnt happen with every carto, probably 1 in 3, but its really annoying when it does because i have to constantly keep it primed in order to not burn the carto.

I'm now using clearos but when I had my tank/ carto system vaping 60/ 40 PG/ VG sometimes the pressure would not release in the tank (negative pressure) and I'd have to open the tank to equalize otherwise the juice wouldn't flow. Although not pretty this is the best tank I've found cuz the side screw makes it very easy to release pressure and fill when needed. I pre punched 1 hole 2.5 mm.
Tanks - Mom and Pop Vapor Shop
They also have this quick tip halfway down page:
Quick-tip - once its half empty you can depressurize it by removing the screw for 15 sec. This alows E-liquid to flow into the carto freely to help prevent a dry hit. Another tip for a dry carto - take the screw out and vape normally until you hear gurgling, replace screw and continue vaping. This tip can lead to flooding if done too long but works great for those rare cartos that just don't want to absorb e-liquid. Hope this helps!

+1 I haven't tried anything better than the Vivi Nova. Although I'd recommend getting more than one, but I'm not happy with the same juice all day. I like to keep at least 4 or 5 flavours readily available at all times. 4 Vivis in a small ego case and I'm happy for hours.

sailor man where did you get the vivi nova?

I got the first one at madvapes, but they might be out. I just ordered two more from hoosier. Surevapes has them for a buck or two more, but the shipping's free. Hoosier also has metal replacement tanks. Not sure if Surevapes does or not.

Check out the new Reactor tank from Nhaler. It uses an atomizer instead of a carto. It rips like crazy and tastes delicious. Its is expensive but worth it.

I just looked at the Torpedo tank at Vapor-Age. They really look sweet and use a CE2 atomizer. High quality piece of kit there for sure, but $50 a pop and I need 4 or 5 of them. It adds up fast. Plus, I love the idea of rebuildable coils. I don't want to be stuck paying $4 a piece for CE2 guts when I can build my own in 10 minutes for pennies.

I'm using Phiniac Pyrex tanks... LOVE IT! No feeding issues, no dry hits, no leaking, no cracking. Very easy, fast tank filling if you use their $3 "tank tool", which will also save your o-rings from getting chewed up by the sharp edges on the top of a carto. A bit pricier but WELL worth the money. :)

I have a Torpedo Tank. I love it. And if you cut your own CE-2s its costs a lot less. The only problem with the tank is that you have to email the site and see if they will make one for you. I switched to the Reactor and am loving it. No need to rebuild. You can see 3 months of life out of 1 atty as opposed to 3 weeks out of a carto.

Granted I don't have much experience with other tanks, when I was ready to purchase my first, and not totally break the bank, I did a little research. I came upon the JTank from electronicstix. I believe their 3mL version is made to fit on styles such as the eGo. I have their 5mL for my Bolt. Not one nitpick from it so far after 2+ months of use. Have dropped it several times unfortunately, and still not one crack or anything. They're made locally in the US by the store's machinist. That's my recommendation, good luck on the search!

any experience with 100% vg with this? im pretty much vaping bobas exclusively right now.

All I use is the vivi nova on my provari (until my DID gets here) and I only use 100% VG juice from ECblends. Even if I put it on my eGo-T it vapes great(with the 2.4 or 1.8 not tried it with the 2.8 atty). Takes a small amount of time to break them in but after that it works really good.

My vote would go to the j-tank with Boge cartos. I spent way too much time fiddling with and getting frustrated by those stupid Smoktech DCTs. They almost turned me off of carto tanks, but I decided to try the j-tank before making up my mind and I'm really glad I did.

Although the j-tanks are almost twice the cost of the Smoktech DCTs, they're 20 times better IMO. No muss, no fuss, just tasty and consistent hits. Of course, this does still depend on your ability to punch cartos with the right size and number of holes.
