Ok Well I did some thinking And I have pretty much narrowed it down to either the Screw Driver OR the 905.

Seems the 905 has more then one version out though looks like the one at e-smokeytreats is the one I would get if I was to get the 905 only because I can afford the price.

Does anyone have any experience with these two Pvs and have any recommendations on One or the other?

Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you. The 510, while great has been a little lacking in the consistency. One of the things I've noticed that kind of bugs me is the vapor seems a little cool for my liking. I almost purchased a Tornado (eGo) but I've seen some reviews were they state that there is no difference with the cone on or off. Along with the battery not putting out a true 3.7v I decided to try the Screwdriver MKII from Totally Wicked. Just ordered it this morning. Hopefully it will give that extra little kick I've been missing from the 510.

Just in case you missed it the 905 is still a 3.7v mod. Is a good device, at least the v2 of it that I have, and a good price. Since you're mentioning trying to save money I would say you should check out LitecigUSA as he has very good prices and I know for sure the one he has is a v2. No matter where you buy it though make sure you get the v2(has main on/off switch) or v3 (does not have main on/off switch) and not the v1(just a mess).

Also looking at your price range I would suggest checking out the SP2- Sparkplug mod also at LitecigUSA as it is only $69.95 for the full kit and even though it is only 3.7v he will soon have a 6 volt version in stock and will be selling the main body as an individual piece which means you could upgrade to higher voltage without having to buy a whole new kit.

Many other options out there as well these are just the ones I'm suggesting as they seem to fit in with what you are saying you are looking for.

You could also look into the SB or the BB. It does sound like your 510 might have a bad atty but I've also found that sometimes a bad battery will do the same thing.

I checked those out also and really like them but the price is just to high and I can't afford them. I have a $90 limit because..well.. Because thats all I have lol.. I'm not employed atm from a disability so I have no income.

I just started doing reviews and built a site so If I was getting an E-cig just to review I would try to get one for free for reviewing purposes but since this is for my personal use I don't want to do that I would feel like a cheat.

Just a couple suggestions....
First, if you are running on one 510 atty, your very first purchase should be more attys ;) Regardless of what mod you get to power your atty, you will need more attys. I would normally recommend a Chuck (all day long), but given your strict budget, I think that the tornado/ego, is a good option for you. The best thing about this option is that you don't have to buy the whole starter kit. Since they run a standard 510 atty, you can just pick up one battery for 25 bucks and a charger adapter for $5 (i think). So you can see if this is the way you want to go for very little moolla. If you find that the ego/tornado works for you, then you can get another battery later.

Just my .02
** If it was me, I would wait till I had another 15 bucks to spend, and get the Chuck($80 shipped) and batts/charger($25 shipped) ;) (but that's just me)

Most likely your 510 atty is going dead, as will your M4 and Njoy attys given time. If you get over a 2 week life on any atty, consider yourself lucky. Most you can do is to stock-up on attys for all your mini's. Some retailers have discounts on quantity purchases of attys.

If you want a PV that will produce vapor and TH like an analog, then IMO you need to step-up to 5 volts. With 5v you will need HV attys also, else start using cartomizers (refillable cartridges with built-in attys). As noted by BrockJ in one of his posts, and I can personally verify, is that cartos LOVE 5 volts. Cartos are about $1 each and attys are about $7 each (not counting the cost of cartridges) and both appear to have about the same life cycle.

If you can scrape up another $7.49 to go with the $90 you have to spend, you can get a full Prodigy V2 kit ($97.49) from PureSmoke (PS) complete with batteries and charger with an adapter and atty of your choice [the Ace/Mini (KR808D-1 & DSE901/RN4075) is for cartos]. If you up your order to $99 by getting some juice or some blank cartos you can also get free shipping.

PS has the best price on blank cartos ($1.09 each), cheaper then China, but they don't have the HV attys. For HV attys you will have to go to NHaler or some other retailer that has them. If you switch to cartos, however, you don't need to stock up on HV attys and you can use the savings to buy more juice :D.

Anyway, this is my 2 cents.

I was in the same situation as you. My 510 just didn't do it for me, so I bought a tornado for $79 from totally wicked this thing rocks I have no desire for a analog since I got it, I tried my old 510 attys on my tornado turns out my old attys are trash, tried one of my tornado attys on my 510 battery and they worked great I think my original 510 attys where bad when I got them new.

VaporWebHQ, I am in the same boat! We got our first order in on Jan 30th. Eleven days and $300 later, I'm very discouraged.

I studied and researched till I was at a point that I needed to actually try it. I found some companies that didn't have much negative talk in the forums, and most people liked the 510, so I put my money down. This was for my husband and me, 1 automatic set-up, 2 manual set-ups, chargers, liquid, etc.

We have one battery left that works, and I've never seen an atty glow orange. I have another order due in any day now, with 2 more attys, maybe they will work, but I'm not optimistic.

I feel like I fill a cart, take a few vapes, charge the battery, take a few vapes, change the atty, take a few vapes. There is something that needs fixed, charged, or replaced every hour or so.

A few times I have seen my husband have some vapor from his 510. I have never had any vapor to speak of, the TH is okay for a few hits, then it becomes dry and harsh, like sandpaper in the back of my throat.

So now, $300 in the hole, I wonder if I should have bought something different. And how would I have known? I now question all the "reviews" out there, and wonder how many of the great reviews of the 510 came from freebee gifts.

I'd feel much better about the 510 if it had come as a surprise free gift. If I hadn't waited and waited for it to arrive, if I hadn't spent any money on it, if I hadn't been left high and dry with dead batteries, if we hadn't had to make the decision of who will get the next toke, because it may be the last.

This thread has made your issue known, and I see several people are finding the same issues. My husband has gone back to analogs and snus, to let me have use of the last of the pv, and I still have to supplement that with analogs, while charging or waiting for an atty to dry after being cleaned.

Bacawind: I am sorry to hear that it's not working for you, but I think I can safely say that (most of) the reviews from people saying that the 510 is great are not a result of freebies. I am at about six months of vaping and about 3 grand of spending (totally unnecessary, I just have to try everything). I have tried just about every model made. The 510 always comes out on top for me. I get a killer throat hit, in fact too much in the mornings. I have to use one of my KR808s for the first hour or so, because it hits a little softer. And with the 510, I get tons of vapor. I can blow about 3-4 big puffy rings from a hit.

Now, as far as the constant maintenance... the batt life of a 510 does suck. If you stick with the stock batteries, you are going to be changing them every hour or so. When I say that the 510 is great, I am talking about the 510 atomizer. I stopped using the stock batts before I was even a month in. I use a Chuck (there are many others to choose from as well), and I can go 3 days without even thinking about a batt charge, So that solves that issue.
The only other maintenance issue is cart filling. There are many (many) cart mods that help with this issue. I have tried ALL of them and a few of my own, but finally settled on one that works very nicely for me. So I basically have to break out the bottle about once an hour (at most), and take about 15-20 seconds to refill. So I don't really see that as an 'issue' either. I get very consistent hits with huge clouds and major throat hit all day every day with very little effort and upkeep.

My point (I think) is that once you get through some of the learning curve and get the proper equipment, it will get much better and much easier. And the reason I am saying all this is that it sounds like you are starting to get discouraged (and the hubby has already given up). There is no reason this can't work. It just takes a little experimenting and trial and error.

As for the $300 spent...You should have quite a bit of 510 equipment for that kind of money. Like 6-7 batts, couple passthroughs, half a dozen attys, etc. But from what it sounds like you don't have that much stuff. Just curious, what DO you have for the money spent??

I agree with highping. I've barely scratched $200 and I've gotten 4 batts, 7 510 attys, 5 different Dekang juices in 10ml, 2 bottles of Ecopure, 5 oz. of Juice from tastyvapor, a PCC, AND a 5v Bartleby WITH extra batteries and a charger.

I have certainly spent more than that, but it was because I started out with a GreenSmoke, which I spent a ton on, and it didn't do it for me, so went with a 510. There is a fine line with the 510 between excellent and dud, and this depends a lot on, as highping says, making sure everything is working properly. Carts must wick well, liquid can't bee too thick or too thin, attys must be healthy (which also depends on the first two things), and batts must be freshly charged. I got a bunch of mega batts from TW, and they are far better than the regular 510 batts.

I'm quoting you, though, Fire n ice, because I just ordered a Bart for myself, but 3.7V not 5V. Looked like a really good fix for the 510 PTs that I've killed over the months (The 510 PT is a good device, but for $20 or less it can't be expected to last forever). Should be here by tomorrow...unless we get another 18 inches of snow. :-x

The 510 is like having a race car...when operating optimally, which takes practice and time to learn, it is amazing. But it is finicky about what it wants, and the stock cart filler is the first thing that starts making it go south. Aquarium blue foam is a common replacement filler, and has rave reviews over the stock filler. I use an auto-drip mod (ZFM), and this has made an enormous difference. I get 50-60 hits per filling, and each one is quite good. Ideally the pull should be easy, smooth, with the sound of sizzling from the atty, and not a lot of heating up. Clogs should be cleaned out...hot water with overnight drying is a good first thing to do, or a non-alcohol mouthwash soak for 10 min, followed by hot water flushing and blowing it out.

The 510 attys should be Joye, not some knock-off. Careful of really cheap ones, as they are very dicey in performance and longevity. As long as the juice is wicking properly, and the atty is not overheating or getting clogged often, the atty should last a month or so...should, but even the Joye attys can be a bit of a crap shoot. Get extras. A good sale price for them is $7 a piece.

And even with high-nic juice, killer mods and perfectly performing attys, there are still some here that need more than nic. Many use snus to get the other tobacco alkaloids, or some other smokeless tobacco formulation, like snuff. But before you give up on the 510, I would spend the time making sure it is working optimally. Good luck! :)

Highping, Fire n Ice, Kurt; thanks for the info! An order arrived today, and with it came a nice dose of optimism. I'm feeling much better about all this.

My husband hasn't given up all together on vaping, just that we were down to one working battery, so he let me have it. I like vaping better than snus. So until we can get fully outfitted in a his-n-her set up, Mr. Baca's letting me go first.

I've ordered from Cignot, Juicy Juice, and another place that I won't mention. I have wishlists and shopping buggies full at Heaven Gifts and Health Cabin, but I haven't ordered there yet, just because I'm running behind and needed it yesterday.

I got some juice, 90ml no nic and 15ml at 24mg, for $26.89. From Juicy Juice. Good stuff.
I got a 510 automatic, 40ml of 24mg and some blank carts, for $38.89. From the other place.
I got some prefilled carts, some VG, some PG, some more nic-liquid, a DC to USB adapter, and a NoBox with PCC with 2 x 510 set ups, all from Cignot, for $93.
Our next Cignot order, that arrived today, was $94, for two carry cases (the little ones), and a 510 with PCC and 1x 510 set up and a Passthru.
Cignot order we placed today (I like them) for $72.50. More juice (cause I like juice! LOL), 16.5ml, and another Passthru with 2 x 510 set ups.
Misc; Fluval, tweezers, straws, tea bags, syringes, storage cases, etc. Around $50ish.

At the time of my last post we had 1 battery and 2 good atty's and a nasty one. I have chargers, juice and carts to last quite some time. I hope!

Mr. Baca wrote to Cignot and the other company, and we have found that one battery died because of operator error. Basically we killed one of our Cignot Joye510 manual batteries. Oopps! So we had one faulty battery, but the other one was our fault.

The atty that is nasty, I can't get it to taste right. I don't know what the deal is. The same juice as I've been using, I cleaned it, blew it out, warm water, vinegar (not all at the same time) but it just has a nastiness to it. Not like primer, it's weird and I'm ready to throw it away because I'm tired of toking it! LOL

The 1st passthru came today, was used about 4 hours, when my husband ordered the second one! The PT has eliminated most of the battery issues I was having.

I'm worried about the atty cleaning, that I don't know what I'm doing and I can't afford to mess it up. I swear this learning curve is more expensive than college was! But for now, we are set up with attys.

I was thinking I was having atty issues, they seemed to be constantly having problems. Well....I made this handy-dandy crocheted neck 510 holder. I think what I did was made a nice snug blanket, basically suffocating my atty. Oh geez! Look out world, I have a crochet hook and I'm not afraid to use it! LOL

The vapor issue, I think I found info on that. I was watching a video on the Tornado and Scott talked about the longer you hold the hit in your lungs, the less vapor on the exhale. Mr. Baca said that I have always done that with analogs, I inhale deeper and hold longer than he does. So I played with it some, and I can get the vapor like others do with the 510. Turns out, I like it better with a deeper inhale and a longer hold.

Basically, the Joye 510 from Cignot is great, as long as you take ME out of the equation! LOL

The carts/filling/mess, seems to bother me more than my husband. He says he kind of likes it. I want a juice pump of some sort. Yeah, more money! I like the option to change flavors around at times, so maybe a juice pump with a go-to set up, then 510's with different flavors for when the mood strikes me. Good news is, our preliminary findings of our '09 taxes looks promising. And Mr. Baca is a tinkerer, he's thinking mods already.

Right now I'm looking around for longer lasting battery and more juice. Something I could take with me, away from the grid, and not need to change carts or refill.

I drink iced coffee, out of a Coleman 1/3 gallon thermos, with Tygon tubing for a straw. I love my coffee. I told my husband he could make me a mod out of a thermos! A kick-... battery pack and enough juice for a month!
